About the Role:
We are looking for a strategic, highly analytical, and execution-focused Deputy Director Revenue Planning & Demand Management to lead our sell-side demand management engine. Operating at the core of platform monetization, you will shape category-level demand across pricing, visibility, and customer acquisition levers while balancing growth targets with category profitability.
In this leadership role, you will lead a team of 34 planning professionals, manage end-to-end platform and category-level revenue targets, and program manage large-scale horizontal initiatives across Marketing, Product, Category Sourcing, and Supply Chain.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Team Leadership & Strategic Governance:
- Lead, mentor, and build a high-performing team of 34 planning managers and analysts driving day-to-day Revenue and Traffic management.
- Act as the strategic bridge between category buy-side teams, central growth teams, and executive management to align demand generation with supply availability.
- Influence cross-functional stakeholders across Brand, Sourcing, Product, and Tech to achieve top-line platform revenue and profitability goals.
2. Revenue & Traffic Planning (Annual, Monthly & Hourly):
- End-to-End Planning: Draft and own granular Annual, Monthly, Daily, and Hourly revenue plans along with key platform input metrics (Traffic, DAU, MAU, Monthly Active Customers/MAC) for both Business-As-Usual (BAU) and high-volume flagship events.
- Segmentation & Modeling: Drive revenue planning across deep customer and business dimensions - including Business Units, Geographies, Seasons, Purchase Recency, and Purchase Sequences.
- Planning Automation: Modernize and automate the planning infrastructure by partnering with Data Science teams to build predictive planning models, reducing planning cycle lead times.
- Holistic Process Mapping: Map end-to-end business processes and metrics to understand cross-functional impacts on revenue leaks/losses and build corrective buffers into targets.
3. Day-to-Day Revenue Management & Event Execution:
- Real-time Performance Oversight: Actively monitor core commercial and funnel metrics (Traffic, Conversion Rate, Gross Margin, Revenue Per User/RPU, Customer Acquisition) and execute real-time interventions when targets diverge.
- Flagship Event Command: Lead high-revenue events (e.g., major sale properties) by managing war rooms, facilitating real-time problem-solving sessions, and coordinating cross-functional execution under high pressure.
- Comprehensive Reporting: Design and implement 360-degree executive dashboards and health monitors to give leadership real-time visibility into portfolio health.
4. Growth Initiatives & Horizontal Program Management:
- Funnel & Traffic Growth: Partner closely with Performance Marketing and Brand Marketing to drive top-of-the-funnel traffic goals, optimize acquisition costs, and maximize platform ROI.
- Cross-Functional Program Management: Program manage selection expansion, customer experience enhancements, and supply chain readiness across horizontal functions to support top-line scaling.
- New Revenue Avenues: Conceptualize, test, and launch innovative revenue streams, custom promotional properties, tiered offer structures, and strategic monetization frameworks.
Qualifications & Key Requirements:
- Education: MBA or Master's degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Engineering, or a related quantitative discipline from a premier institution.
- Experience: 7-10+ years of progressive experience in Revenue Management, Category Planning, Demand Planning, or E-commerce Monetization (with demonstrated experience managing direct reports).
- Cross-Functional Mastery: Proven ability to program manage complex initiatives across Product, Sourcing, Performance Marketing, and Supply Chain.
- Analytical Excellence: Exceptional capability in handling massive datasets, formulating hypotheses, structuring unstructured business problems, and applying statistical analysis to commercial strategy.
- Communication & Leadership: Strong executive presence with stellar communication and interpersonal skills; adept at driving consensus and accountability among senior leadership and matrixed teams.
