The Manager Business Valuations
The Manager Business Valuations will lead and oversee complex valuation engagements, with a strong emphasis on 409A valuations, fair value measurement, and Discounted Cash Flow (DCF) analyses.
This role requires a deep technical foundation in valuation methodologies, a thorough understanding of regulatory standards, and proven experience managing client relationships and internal teams.
The Manager will serve as a key point of contact for clients, ensuring high-quality deliverables, strategic insights, and compliance with relevant financial reporting standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Engagement Leadership:
Manage and review multiple valuation and consulting engagements for financial reporting, tax planning, compliance, and transaction advisory purposes, including:
- IRC 409A equity valuations
- ASC 718 share-based compensation
- ASC 820 fair value measurements
- Gift and estate tax valuations
Technical Oversight:
- Oversee the development and application of financial models using Market, Income, and Cost Approaches, including DCF models and public/private comparables.
Allocation Methodologies:
- Supervise the application of allocation methodologies such as the Option Pricing Method (OPM),
- Probability-Weighted Expected Return Method (PWERM), and Current Value Method (CVM) for multi-class equity structures.
Research & Analysis:
- Guide research on industry, market, and comparable company data using databases such as CapIQ, PitchBook, and DealStats to support valuation conclusions.
Report Review & Quality Control:
- Review and finalize comprehensive valuation reports, including company overviews, industry analysis, financial analysis, and conclusion of value.
Client Management:
- Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, managing communications, addressing complex questions, and delivering strategic insights based on financial analysis and valuation findings.
Team Leadership:
- Mentor and develop junior team members through training, feedback, and performance reviews.
- Foster a collaborative and high-performance team culture.
Compliance & Standards:
- Ensure all valuation work adheres to relevant standards such as USPAP, AICPA guidelines, and internal quality control procedures.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field (Masters degree or MBA preferred).
- Professional certifications such as CFA, ASA, CPA, or ABV strongly preferred.
- 5 to 7+ years of experience in business valuation, with increasing levels of responsibility.
- Strong expertise in 409A valuations, DCF modeling, and fair value reporting (ASC 820, ASC 718).
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and valuation tools; experience with databases like CapIQ, PitchBook, and DealStats.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Demonstrated leadership and project management skills.
