About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced 1040 Tax Manager to lead, review, and manage US Individual Tax (Form 1040) preparation and compliance.

The ideal candidate should have deep technical expertise in US tax laws, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to manage a team working under tight deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:

Technical & Review:

- Manage and review US Individual Tax Returns (Form 1040, 1040NR).

- Ensure compliance with IRS regulations and adherence to tax filing standards.

- Review complex tax scenarios including:

a. Investment income (Schedule B).

b. Rental income (Schedule E).

c. Business income (Schedule C).

d. Capital gains (Schedule D).

e. Foreign tax credits, AMT, state returns, etc.

- Identify tax-saving opportunities and optimize client filings.

Team Management & Leadership:

- Lead, mentor, and train a team of tax associates and seniors.

- Assign work, monitor productivity, and ensure quality control.

- Conduct technical training sessions on updated tax laws and regulations.

- Review team performance and provide structured feedback.

Client & Stakeholder Interaction:

- Communicate effectively with US clients, CPA firms, and internal leadership.

- Resolve complex tax issues and provide advisory support.

- Maintain strong client relationships and ensure timely delivery.

Process Management:

- Ensure timely tax filings during peak season.

- Implement best practices to improve accuracy and efficiency.

- Maintain workflow using tax software and internal tools.

Required Qualifications:

- Bachelors or Masters degree in Finance, Accounting, Taxation, or related field.

- 5+ years of experience in US Individual Tax (1040).

- Hands-on experience with US tax software such as: ProSeries, Lacerte, Drake, CCH Axcess, UltraTax (any one or more).

- Strong understanding of IRS rules and individual tax laws.

- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.

- Good English communication skills (written & verbal).

Preferred Skills:

- Experience in managing a tax team or leading projects.

- Exposure to state-specific filings.

- Ability to work under pressure during peak tax season.

- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
