Description:
The role ensures accurate filings, supports tax planning, manages audits, and stays current with U.S. tax laws to minimize risk and optimize tax outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Form 1040 (High Net Worth Individuals)
- Form 1120 / 1120S (C-Corporations and S-Corporations)
- Form 1065 (Partnerships, including K-1s)
- Oversee multi-state filings and related apportionment issues.
- Review and manage quarterly estimates and extensions.
- Oversee U.S. tax provisions and reporting (ASC 740), if applicable.
- Ensure compliance with U.S. federal, state, and local tax regulations.
- Handle sales & use tax, payroll tax, and other indirect tax matters as applicable.
- Coordinate and manage IRS and state tax audits, notices, and correspondence.
- Conduct tax research and provide technical guidance on complex tax issues.
- Identify and implement tax planning opportunities for individuals and entities.
- Collaborate with internal finance teams and external tax advisors.
- Maintain tax documentation, workpapers, and internal controls.
- Review work prepared by tax seniors/associates and provide technical mentorship.
Qualifications:
- CPA or EA designation strongly preferred.
- 6 - 10+ years of U.S. tax experience in public accounting and/or industry.
- Strong hands-on experience with Forms 1040, 1120, and 1065.
- Solid knowledge of U.S. federal and multi-state tax compliance.
- Experience with tax research tools and tax preparation software.
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Strong communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
