Job Summary:

We are seeking a hands-on PPC Specialist with a strong academic background (Masters/PhD in Operations Research, Mathematics, or Statistics) who has already developed production scheduling tools and frameworks in a manufacturing setting. The candidate will be responsible for establishing end-to-end PPC systems across all manufacturing departments (Plastics, Steel Strapping, and allied products). Once successful systems are in place and departmental teams are trained, this role will evolve into a leadership position heading PPC across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

1. System Development (Hands-On)

- Design and implement production scheduling tools and frameworks for each department.

- Develop advanced models using optimization, queuing, and statistical forecasting to balance demand, capacity, and inventory.

- Automate planning dashboards integrated with ERP (ERPNext/Zoho/SAP).

- Create "what-if" scenarios and simulation models for decision-making.

2. Implementation Across Departments

- Roll out PPC systems for Plastics, Steel Strapping, and other manufacturing units.

- Standardize planning and scheduling methods across multiple plants and SKUs.

- Train departmental teams in using the tools, ensuring adoption and accuracy.

3. Continuous Improvement

- Monitor plan adherence vs. actual production and identify gaps.

- Apply Lean/TPM/Toyota-style pull systems to reduce waste and optimize flow.

- Recommend corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives.

4. Leadership Evolution

- Build and mentor a dedicated PPC team for each business vertical.

- Transition from tool-builder to PPC Head, overseeing centralized planning.

- Provide strategic inputs to leadership on capacity expansion, investments, and customer service levels.

Hands-On Tools Expertise (Mandatory):

- Mathematical / Statistical Modeling: Python (Pandas, SciPy, PuLP, OR-Tools), R, MATLAB

- Optimization & Simulation: Linear Programming, Queuing Models, Monte Carlo, Simulation tools

- Data Handling & Reporting: Advanced Excel (Solver, Power Query, VBA, Pivot Dashboards), Power BI, Tableau

- ERP Systems: ERPNext, SAP, Oracle, Zoho - integration with planning and scheduling models

Required Qualifications:

- Masters or PhD in Operations Research, Mathematics, or Statistics.

- Proven experience in building and implementing production scheduling frameworks (not just using them).

- 5-8 years of experience in production planning and manufacturing analytics.

- Strong hands-on expertise with the tools listed above.

- Ability to work closely with plant teams, sales, and supply chain to align operations.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Experience in plastics, steel, or packaging industries.

- Familiarity with Toyota Production System, Lean Manufacturing, or Pull Systems.

- Strong communication, training, and stakeholder management skills.

- Demonstrated ambition to grow into a leadership / P&L support role.
