Mutual Fund Operations Role - Fund Accounting - CA

Role Overview:

The Head of Fund Accounting will be responsible for leading the end-to-end fund accounting function for Alternative Investment Funds (AIFs). This role requires strong expertise in fund structures, investor reporting, regulatory compliance, and financial controls. The individual will work closely with the MD & CEO and play a critical role in ensuring accuracy, transparency, and efficiency across fund operations.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead and manage the complete fund accounting lifecycle for AIF structures.

- Oversee NAV calculations, capital account statements, investor allocations, and financial reporting

- Ensure timely and accurate preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements

- Manage fund audits and coordinate with auditors, custodians, administrators, and tax advisors

- Monitor fund performance, expense allocations, and waterfall/distribution calculations

- Ensure compliance with SEBI AIF regulations and other applicable regulatory requirements

- Strengthen internal controls, processes, and governance frameworks across fund accounting

- Partner with investment, legal, and compliance teams on fund structuring and transactions

- Drive automation and process improvements within the fund accounting function

- Lead and mentor the fund accounting team

Key Requirements:

- Chartered Accountant (CA) preferred

- 12 - 15 years of experience, with at least 7 years in AIF fund accounting

- Strong understanding of AIF regulations, fund structures, and reporting standards

- Experience handling multiple funds and complex investment structures

- Exposure to investor reporting, capital calls, distributions, and audit processes

- High attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills

- Proven leadership experience with the ability to manage and scale teams

- Strong stakeholder management skills, including interaction with senior leadership
