Job Description:
1. Plant Operations Management:
- Lead and manage end-to-end ELV recycling operations including vehicle receipt, inspection, depollution, dismantling, shredding, segregation, storage, processing, and dispatch.
- Ensure compliance with ELV recycling guidelines, environmental norms, and approved dismantling procedures.
- Drive maximum recovery of ferrous metals, non-ferrous metals, plastics, rubber, glass, batteries, tyres, and reusable automotive components.
- Optimize plant productivity, recovery rates, turnaround time, and operational efficiency.
- Establish and monitor production plans, processing schedules, and material recovery targets.
- Ensure effective preventive and predictive maintenance of shredders, balers, cranes, cutting equipment, depollution systems, and other plant machinery.
- Develop and implement SOPs to ensure consistency, quality, and safety in operations.
- Monitor inventory of vehicles, recovered materials, reusable parts, and finished scrap products.
2. Procurement & Commercial Management:
- Develop sustainable sourcing channels for End-of-Life Vehicles through OEMs, dealerships, fleet operators, insurance companies, aggregators, government auctions, and institutional customers.
- Build strategic relationships with vehicle owners, scrap dealers, transporters, and procurement partners.
- Negotiate commercial agreements with suppliers and customers to maximize profitability.
- Monitor commodity prices, scrap markets, recycled material demand, and recovery economics.
- Ensure optimum realization from recovered materials and reusable components.
- Oversee billing, inventory reconciliation, weighment, dispatch documentation, and commercial controls.
- Work closely with finance teams to improve profitability, cost optimization, and working capital efficiency.
3. Regulatory Compliance & Sustainability:
- Ensure complete compliance with ELV regulations, vehicle scrappage policies, environmental laws, pollution control norms, and factory regulations.
- Manage vehicle deregistration and documentation processes as per applicable government guidelines.
- Ensure safe handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials including oils, coolants, batteries, fuel residues, refrigerants, and airbags.
- Coordinate with government authorities, transport departments, pollution control boards, auditors, and certification agencies.
- Maintain all statutory records, licenses, permits, and regulatory documentation.
- Promote circular economy initiatives and environmentally responsible recycling practices.
- Drive sustainability programs focused on waste minimization and resource recovery.
4. Strategic Growth & Business Expansion:
- Identify opportunities for expansion of ELV processing capacity and operational capabilities.
- Evaluate and implement advanced recycling technologies, automation, and digital tracking systems.
- Explore opportunities in:
1. Automotive parts refurbishment and resale
2. Battery recycling
3. Tyre recycling
4. Plastic recycling
5. E-waste recycling
6. Metal recovery and downstream processing
- Develop strategic partnerships with OEMs, insurance companies, fleet operators, and recycling ecosystem stakeholders.
- Support management in investment planning, feasibility studies, and capacity enhancement projects.
5. Safety, Quality & Risk Management:
- Establish and maintain world-class safety standards across plant operations.
- Drive a strong safety culture focused on zero accidents and zero environmental incidents.
- Ensure safe dismantling and handling of vehicles and hazardous materials.
- Conduct regular safety audits, risk assessments, and emergency preparedness drills.
- Implement quality standards for recovered materials and reusable automotive components.
- Ensure compliance with ISO, EHS, and sustainability management systems where applicable.
6. Team Leadership & Administration:
- Lead multidisciplinary teams across operations, maintenance, procurement, quality, logistics, EHS, administration, and commercial functions.
- Build a high-performance culture focused on accountability, productivity, safety, and continuous improvement.
- Develop succession planning and capability-building initiatives for plant personnel.
- Ensure effective manpower planning, contractor management, and industrial relations.
- Foster employee engagement and operational discipline across all levels.
Key Skills & Competencies:
- Strong expertise in ELV recycling and automobile dismantling operations
