Role

This AVP - Engineering position is ideal for leaders passionate about building and scaling high-performance engineering teams and platforms. You will oversee both technical and people leadership, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative, secure, and impactful solutions. The role emphasizes strategic vision, operational excellence, and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead engineering strategy for platform modernization, scalability, and resilience.

- Oversee integration of third-party services and internal systems.

- Own end-to-end delivery of engineering projects with measurable business impact.

- Collaborate with Product, QA, DevOps, and Security teams to ensure timely and quality releases.

- Monitor and improve KPIs such as velocity, defect rate, and system uptime.

- Mentor and grow engineering managers and senior developers.

- Drive performance reviews, career development, and succession planning.

- Champion agile practices, DevOps culture, and continuous improvement.

- Ensure adherence to security, compliance, and coding standards.

- Communicate goals and recognize achievements in leadership forums.

About You

- Bachelor or master's degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field.

- 12+ years in software engineering, with 5+ years in leadership roles.

- Experience with vendor management and cross-site team coordination.

- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

- Analytical, detail-oriented, and an effective leader.

Primary Skills:

- Expertise in web-technologies such as React, Node.js, Spring Boot, Django, and modern front-end frameworks

- Expertise in multiple languages - .NET Core, Java, Python, TypeScript

- Experience in integrating complex third-party and internal APIs

- Experience in security practices, including SonarQube and vulnerability management

- Strategic leadership in Azure, AWS, GCP cloud platforms

- Driving CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, and automation at scale

- Championing quality assurance and test-driven development. Understanding of automation testing tools such as - Apache JMeter, BrowserStack, Nightwatch.js, Playwright, Locust

- Driving proactive incident management and system reliability

Secondary Skills:

- Cross-Platform Data Engineering: Experience with data pipelines, ETL, and big data tools (e.g., Spark, Hadoop).

- Data Analysis & Visualization: Familiarity with analytics and reporting tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Streamlit.

- AI/ML Engineering: Exposure to machine learning frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn) and integrating AI models into platforms.

- API Integration: Knowledge of GraphQL, gRPC, and advanced API management solutions.

- Advanced Testing Frameworks: Experience with Playwright, Locust, FluentLenium for automation and performance testing.

- Programming: Exposure to Blazor, Rust, Go, or other emerging languages.

- Cloud-Native Patterns: Understanding of serverless architectures, event-driven design, and cloud cost optimization.

- Security & Compliance: Familiarity with DevSecOps, threat modeling, and regulatory compliance (GDPR, SOC2).

- Mentoring & Coaching: Ability to upskill teams, run architecture workshops, and foster a culture of technical excellence.

- Stakeholder Engagement: Experience in presenting technical strategies to executive leadership and non-technical stakeholders.

- Vendor Management: Experience managing external partners and technology vendors.
