Role Overview:

As an Equity Research professional focusing on the Midcap segment, you will be responsible for identifying high-potential investment opportunities by conducting rigorous fundamental analysis. You will work closely with the institutional equities team to produce high-quality research reports that influence investment strategies for our clients. Your day-to-day will involve tracking sector trends, engaging with company management, and building robust financial models to provide actionable insights that drive the firm's competitive edge in the midcap space.

Key Responsibilities:

- Conduct in-depth fundamental research on midcap companies to identify investment themes and stock-specific opportunities for institutional investors.

- Build and maintain complex financial models to forecast company performance and evaluate valuation metrics under various market scenarios.

- Author comprehensive research reports and investment notes that clearly articulate the investment thesis, risks, and growth drivers for internal and external stakeholders.

- Maintain active coverage of assigned sectors by tracking quarterly results, regulatory changes, and macroeconomic developments that impact stock valuations.

- Engage with company management teams and industry experts to gather primary insights and validate research assumptions.

- Present research findings and investment recommendations to the internal investment committee and institutional clients to facilitate informed decision-making.

Required Skillset:

- Demonstrated expertise in financial modeling and valuation techniques, including DCF, relative valuation, and sum-of-the-parts analysis.

- Strong analytical capabilities to synthesize large datasets into concise, actionable investment insights for the capital markets.

- Proven ability to communicate complex financial concepts effectively through written reports and verbal presentations to senior stakeholders.

- Deep understanding of market research methodologies and the ability to interpret sector-specific trends within the Indian midcap landscape.

- Professional qualification such as a CFA charter or an MBA from a premier institute is highly preferred.

- Ability to work effectively in a high-pressure, on-site environment in Mumbai, collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet strict research deadlines.

- 3 - 15 years of relevant experience in equity research, demonstrating a track record of consistent performance and market coverage.
