Role Summary:
- We are seeking a highly driven and detail-oriented Accounting Specialist to play a critical role in strengthening Motadatas financial operations, compliance framework, and reporting accuracy.
- This position demands a professional who brings precision, accountability, and analytical rigor to core accounting functions while supporting the organizations growth and governance objectives.
- The successful candidate will be responsible for end-to-end accounting operations, statutory compliance (including GST), financial reconciliations, and expense governance, ensuring financial integrity and operational excellence across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Accounting & Controls:
- Maintain complete and accurate accounting ledgers in compliance with applicable accounting standards and internal control frameworks
- Execute periodic reconciliations of bank accounts, general ledger balances, and sub-ledgers to ensure financial accuracy and transparency
- Ensure timely and accurate recording of all financial transactions, including revenues, expenses, collections, and payments
Statutory & Tax Compliance:
- Manage GST registration, GST accounting, and end-to-end filing of GST returns in accordance with statutory timelines
- Ensure compliance with applicable indirect tax regulations and support audits, assessments, and regulatory reviews
- Maintain statutory documentation and audit-ready records to support internal and external audits
Expense Management & Financial Governance:
- Monitor, validate, and control organizational expenditures in line with approved budgets and internal policies
- Maintain detailed expense registers and payment records, ensuring traceability and financial discipline
- Support cost analysis and provide inputs for financial planning and decision-making
Reporting & Stakeholder Support:
- Prepare periodic financial summaries, reconciliations, and management reports
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve accounting discrepancies and process improvements
- Support senior finance leadership with accurate data for audits, reviews, and strategic initiatives

Candidate Profile:
Education & Experience:
- Bachelors degree in Commerce; Masters degree preferred
- 2 - 5 years of progressive experience in accounting, finance operations, or statutory compliance
- Prior experience in a product company, technology firm, or high-growth organization is highly desirable
Technical & Professional Skills:
- Strong command of accounting principles, financial controls, and reconciliation processes
- Hands-on experience with accounting systems and ERP platforms
- Proven expertise in GST compliance, accounting, and return filing
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and working knowledge of MS Word and PowerPoint
