Manage, Scale, and Own a 60+ stores Regional Business


More Retail Pvt. Ltd. is one of Indias largest food & grocery platforms, backed by Samara Capital and Amazon, and operating at real scale across metros and growth markets. We are in the middle of a transformation journeymoving from footprint to profitable, customer-led scale.


This role is for leaders who dont want staff roles, slide decks, or inherited playbooks. It is for operators who want to own a business end-to-end, make hard calls on growth vs. profitability, and leave behind a region that is structurally stronger than when they found it.

What You Will Own

As Regional Operations head, you are the CEO of a geography.

You will own P&L for 60-70 stores, with full accountability for:

- Revenue growth

- Contribution margins

- Cost discipline

- Customer metrics

- Store expansion outcomes

- Talent quality on the ground

Your Mandate

1. Full P&L Ownership, No Buffers

- Partner deeply with Buying, Merchandising, Supply Chain, and Marketing but carry final accountability for outcomes.

- Drive weekly and monthly business reviews with a sharp eye on unit economics, cohort performance, and cost levers.

- Diagnose underperformance early and act decisively pricing, assortment, manpower, or footprint.

2. Scale the Network, Not Just the Topline

- Lead store network expansionfrom site identification and feasibility to launch and ramp-up.

- Decide where to grow, where to pause, and where to fix fundamentals first.

- Run strategic initiatives to unlock:

- Higher revenue per store

- Better throughput and inventory turns

- Lower leakage and operating costs

- Think like a marketplace operator: density, repeat behavior, and cost to serve matter.

3. Operational Excellence at Startup Speed

- Ensure tight execution across daily operations while continuously raising the bar on standards.

- Track and act on the right metricsnot vanity KPIs, but ones that move contribution and customer trust.

- Drive continuous improvement (Kaizen) with a bias for simple fixes over complex programs.

- Own governance, compliance, and SOP adherence without slowing the business down.

4. Customer Obsession, Not Just Service Levels

- Build a culture where customer pain is visible and unacceptable, not buried in reports.

- Work cross-functionally to close gaps in availability, freshness, service, and resolution time.

- Translate customer signals into store-level and supply-chain-level action.

5. Build Leaders, Not Just Teams

- Lead a large, distributed workforce across cities and clusters.

- Build strong city and store leadership benchesidentify gaps early and fix them through coaching, hiring, or tough calls.

- Set clear goals, run honest performance reviews, and reward ownership.

- Create a culture where results, integrity, and pace are non-negotiable.

Who This Role Is For

This role is ideal for leaders who have:

- Run large city / cluster / category businesses in ecommerce, q-commerce, food tech, QSR, or consumer platforms.


- Managed multi-location teams and complex on-ground operations.

- Take real calls on growth vs. profitability, not just execution.

- Lived with ambiguity, pressure, and fast feedback loopsand enjoyed it.

What Were Looking For

- Postgraduate degree from a Tier-1 B-School.


- 3-5 years post-MBA experience in ecommerce, consumer tech, QSR, or scaled consumer businesses.

- Demonstrated P&L ownership mindset (even if the title didnt say P&L).

- Strong analytical ability with comfort in data-led decision making.

- High energy, high ownership, and willingness to travel extensively.

- Comfortable with a 6-day operating rhythmthis is a business-building role, not a desk job.
