Indirect Tax LeadMondel- z International Mumbai Metropolitan Region (Hybrid) Purpose of the role: - The purpose of the role is to hire a high-calibre resource to lead a team of tax professionals and ensure that organisational objectives are met through strong business partnering. Main Responsibilities: - The person should be able to lead the team of indirect tax professionals and support India Tax Lead in ensuring that we are fully compliant with GST tax compliances. - In-depth understanding of GST law and erstwhile legislation. - The person should also act as a support to the business in advising on indirect tax issues and transactions. - To succeed in the role, the person must understand the accounting entries for taxes and ensure we are accounting appropriately. - The person should lead the team in handling audits and working closely with India Tax Lead in devising a strategy for future risk mitigation. - The person to work with the India Tax Lead, Legal team, and external advisors on litigation strategy for closure of past VAT / Excise / Customs litigations. - To also advise on best practices and digital innovations in ways of working to make Mondelez future-ready with seamless integration of business and tax. Career Experience Required: - Extensive experience in Indirect Tax. - Requires to be a Chartered Accountant (plus LLB) preferred - A minimum of 13 years of experience in a multinational corporation. - Experience with a Big 4 firm is advantageous. You will engage with a range of stakeholders, including: External: - Auditors - Legal advisors - Government officials Internal: - India Tax Lead - Finance Leads - Legal Team - Business teams Key Leadership Competency: - Problem Solving - Team Player - Drive for Result - Integrity & Trust - Organizational Agility Functional Competency: - In-depth knowledge and application of GST / Excise / VAT / Customs law. - Well-versed with legal positions and jurisprudence. - Business understanding will be added advantage.
