Role Details:

Team/Function: PaaS/Sourcing

Designation: Director - Sourcing

Location: Noida

Key Role Related Skills:

- Strategic sourcing

- Category Exposure (Metals and Mining)

- Value Engineering

Role Objective:

The Sourcing Head will own strategic sourcing performance across Moglix's PaaS client portfolio - driving buyer productivity, category depth, digitally-enabled sourcing processes, and supplier commercial outcomes. This is a director-level, P&L-adjacent role responsible for translating category strategy into measurable savings, working-capital improvement, and rebate income, while building a high-performing sourcing team. Prior category ownership in metals & mining (ferrous/non-ferrous, MRO, or mining consumables) is a strong plus given the concentration of metals & mining accounts in the current PaaS portfolio.

Role Responsibilities:

1. Buyer Productivity & Category Excellence:

- Drive buyer productivity to 200+ line items (LI) per buyer per month within a 6 - 9 month ramp-up window.

- Build deep category expertise across assigned spend categories; develop and institutionalise sourcing playbooks and Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) models.

- Improve overall buyer utilization and throughput through structured workload design and category specialisation.

2. Digital & Process Transformation:

- Deploy AI and automation to streamline sourcing, RFQ management, contracting, purchase order issuance, and approval workflows.

- Partner with the Cognilix / Platform-Tech team to identify and pilot automation opportunities that reduce manual touchpoints in the source-to-PO cycle.

3. Cost & Value Delivery:

- Drive competitive sourcing practices to deliver 5 - 10% year-on-year savings / value improvement across managed categories.

- Lead value-engineering initiatives - spec rationalisation, alternate sourcing, should-cost analysis - to reduce total cost of ownership for clients.

4. Supplier Partnerships & Commercial Terms:

- Build strategic, long-term supplier partnerships and drive continuous improvement in supplier performance (cost, quality, delivery).

- Negotiate improved payment terms with suppliers, delivering a 15 - 20 day improvement in Days Payable Outstanding (DPO).

- Establish Terms of Reference (TOR) agreements with eligible suppliers, targeting 3 - 5% rebate income.

- Cross-leverage supplier relationships across BUs and clients to unlock enterprise-level pricing and commercial benefits.

- Develop Turnover Discount (TOD) / volume-linked commercial agreements with strategic enterprise suppliers.

5. Team Leadership:

- Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing sourcing team across category leads and buyers, embedding a performance and accountability culture.

Experience:

- 10+ years of progressive experience in strategic sourcing, category management, or procurement, with at least 4 - 5 years in a leadership role owning a sourcing team or category P&L.

- Demonstrated experience managing sourcing for large enterprise or B2B industrial accounts; PaaS / procurement outsourcing background is an advantage.

- Category exposure to Metals & Mining (ferrous/non-ferrous, mining consumables, MRO, or related industrial spend) strongly preferred, given the current client mix.

- Track record of delivering measurable savings, DPO improvement, and rebate/TOD commercial structures with suppliers.

- Experience working with or deploying digital/AI-enabled sourcing and procurement tools.

Knowledge & Skills:

- Strong commercial and negotiation acumen, with comfort operating at CXO/supplier-leadership level.

- Analytical rigor - comfortable building and defending TCO, should-cost, and savings models.

- Proven people leadership - able to build and scale a category/buyer team.

- Structured, data-driven approach to category and process design; automation-first mindset.

Education:

- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, or related field; MBA or equivalent PG qualification preferred.
