Job Summary:
The Head of Human Resources will lead and manage the university's HR function, overseeing recruitment, faculty and staff lifecycle management, policy formulation, performance management, payroll coordination, employee engagement, and compliance with UGC and statutory norms. The role partners with university leadership to drive people strategy and institutional excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead end-to-end recruitment and workforce planning for faculty and staff in line with UGC norms.
- Develop and implement HR policies, procedures, and governance frameworks.
- Drive Performance Management Systems (PMS), including KRAs, KPIs, and appraisal processes.
- Oversee payroll, attendance, leave management, and statutory compliance via HRMS.
- Manage employee relations, grievance handling, and disciplinary matters.
- Lead training, development, and competency-building initiatives across departments.
- Drive employee engagement, retention strategies, and Rewards & Recognition programs.
- Oversee onboarding, exits, exit interviews, attrition analysis, and Full & Final settlements.
- Advise university leadership on HR strategy, organizational structure, and talent planning.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Master's degree in HR / MBA (HR) or related discipline.
- 10+ years of progressive HR experience; prior experience in University / Higher Education preferred.
- Strong knowledge of UGC regulations, HR policies, payroll, and statutory compliance.
- Proven leadership, stakeholder management, and strategic HR capabilities.
