Overview
Mody University of Science and Technology, Lakshmangarh, invites applications for the position of Dean, School of Law. The Dean will provide strategic academic and administrative leadership, ensuring excellence in legal education, compliance with Bar Council of India (BCI) regulations, and holistic development of students and faculty.
Key Responsibilities
1. Leadership & Administration
- Lead and manage the School of Law in alignment with the University's vision and strategic goals.
- Provide strategic direction for academic growth, innovation, and institutional development.
- Oversee faculty recruitment, retention, performance management, and professional development.
- Supervise academic administration including curriculum planning, course offerings, and scheduling.
2. Academic Oversight
- Ensure compliance with BCI regulations and other statutory and academic standards.
- Develop and implement academic policies related to curriculum, assessments, and faculty evaluation.
- Coordinate accreditation, quality assurance, and continuous improvement initiatives with University leadership.
3. Faculty Development
- Foster a culture of academic excellence, research, and innovation.
- Encourage faculty participation in national and international conferences, seminars, and workshops.
- Support faculty in securing research grants and publishing scholarly work.
4. Student Affairs
- Oversee student academic progress, mentoring, and career guidance.
- Facilitate internships, externships, moot courts, and professional exposure opportunities.
- Maintain strong engagement with students, alumni, and faculty to enhance the learning ecosystem.
5. BCI & Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure adherence to all Bar Council of India norms relating to curriculum, faculty qualifications, infrastructure, and governance.
- Stay updated on legal education policies and regulatory changes to ensure ongoing compliance.
6. Research & External Collaborations
- Promote legal research and establish research centers within the School of Law.
- Build collaborations with law firms, judiciary, legal practitioners, academic institutions, and research bodies.
- Engage with national and international stakeholders in legal education and practice.
7. Public Relations & Outreach
- Represent the School of Law at academic, professional, and public forums.
- Strengthen relationships with judges, legal professionals, regulators, and alumni.
- Lead outreach initiatives, conferences, workshops, and media engagement to enhance visibility.
8. Financial Oversight
- Prepare and manage the School of Law's budget.
- Ensure effective allocation of resources for academic programs, faculty development, research, and student support.
Qualifications & Experience
Education
- LL.M. (Mandatory)
- Ph.D. in Law (Highly Preferred)
Experience
- Minimum 10 years of experience in legal education and/or legal practice.
- At least 5 years in an academic leadership or administrative role.
- Strong expertise in BCI regulations, accreditation norms, and legal education frameworks.
- Proven track record in academic leadership, curriculum development, faculty management, and student affairs.
- Active involvement in legal research and publications.
