Role Overview:
Lead the accounting function for the group and its subsidiaries, ensuring financial integrity, statutory compliance, timely closure of books, and strong internal controls. The role is critical in supporting strategic decision-making and interfacing with auditors, tax authorities, lenders, and regulators.
Experience of working with big4 or renewable industry must have.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounting & Financial Reporting
- Lead the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing process.
- Ensure timely preparation and finalization of standalone and consolidated financial statements as per Ind AS.
- Supervise general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, and inter-company accounting.
- Review and approve all journal entries and reconciliations.
. Getting audit completed from Big 4.
- Coordinate with statutory auditors for annual audits and limited reviews.
- Ensure compliance with all direct and indirect tax laws including GST, TDS, Income Tax, etc.
- Handle tax assessments, transfer pricing, and tax planning.
Project & SPV Accounting
- Set up accounting processes for project SPVs (Special Purpose Vehicles).
- Manage financial records for capital expenditure, EPC contracts, and O&M contracts.
- Monitor project-level budgets vs. actuals and cost tracking.
Internal Controls & Risk Management
- Design and implement internal controls and SOPs for financial transactions.
- Mitigate risks by ensuring proper documentation and compliance with regulatory norms.
Stakeholder Management
- Liaise with internal teams including legal, procurement, operations, and project finance.
- Manage financial reporting and documentation for lenders, equity partners, and regulators.
- Support M&A, due diligence, and investor reporting as required.
Team Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and upskill the finance and accounts team across multiple locations.
- Build a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement.
Key Requirements:
- Qualifications: Chartered Accountant (CA) is mandatory. CPA or MBA (Finance) is a plus.
- In-depth knowledge of Ind AS, Companies Act, and Direct/Indirect Tax.
- Prior experience handling multiple SPVs and project-based accounting.
- Hands-on experience with SAP/Oracle or other ERP platforms.
- Strong analytical, leadership, and communication skills.
Preferred Attributes:
- Experience working in a PE/VC-backed company or an IPO-preparing firm.
- Exposure to debt-funded projects and working with DFIs, NBFCs, or multilateral agencies.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-stakeholder environment.
