
About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst to lead the development and enhancement of our reinsurance system while managing an existing broking platform. This is a pivotal role requiring close collaboration with global stakeholders to translate business requirements into system features and drive continuous improvement across platforms.
The ideal candidate will bring a strong understanding of reinsurance and broking operations, combined with the ability to work across time zones and manage diverse user groups.
Key Responsibilities:
System Development & Enhancement:
- Lead the design and build-out of a comprehensive reinsurance system, ensuring alignment with business objectives
- Manage and enhance the existing broking system to improve functionality and user experience
- Gather, document and prioritise business requirements from stakeholders across multiple geographies
- Translate business needs into detailed functional specifications for development teams
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Liaise with users across global offices to understand requirements, gather feedback and drive adoption
- Act as the primary point of contact between business users and technical teams
- Conduct workshops, demos and training sessions to support system rollouts and enhancements
Project & Process Management:
- Manage the product backlog and prioritise features based on business value and user impact
- Support UAT cycles and ensure timely resolution of issues
- Document workflows, system processes and user guides
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation
Qualifications & Experience:
Essential:
- 5-8 years of experience as a Business Analyst, preferably within insurance, reinsurance or broking
- Strong understanding of reinsurance operations, treaty and facultative business, and broking workflows
- Experience in system development or implementation projects
- Proven ability to work with global teams and manage stakeholders across different time zones
- Excellent documentation, communication and presentation skills
- Proficiency in tools such as JIRA, Confluence, MS Visio, Excel and SQL (basic)
Desirable:
- Experience working with Lloyd's market or London market systems
- Knowledge of insurance platforms such as Whitespace, PPL or similar
- Exposure to Agile/Scrum methodologies
- Understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements in reinsurance
