
Job Summary:
To lead and coordinate a dedicated effort to identify, evaluate, and pursue the most promising medical treatments, clinical trials, rehabilitation programs, and research initiatives related to Retinitis Pigmentosa and related retinal degenerative diseases.
The role combines medical research, physician coordination, clinical trial tracking, and innovation scouting to identify pathways that could improve quality of life and explore potential therapeutic breakthroughs
Key Responsibilities:
- Clinical Research & Therapy Tracking
- Conduct deep research on global treatment options for retinal degenerative diseases.
- Track developments in gene therapy, stem cell therapy, optogenetics, and retinal prosthetics.
- Monitor leading clinical trials and evaluate eligibility requirements.
- Technical validation of warranty cases.
- Global Specialist Coordination
- Identify and coordinate consultations with leading retinal specialists and institutions.
- Arrange consultations, prepare medical summaries, and coordinate follow-ups.
- Genetic Testing & Precision Medicine
- Coordinate advanced retinal genetic testing.
- Work with specialists to interpret mutation results.
- Map gene mutation to potential therapies and trials.
- Clinical Trial Monitoring
- Track ongoing trials globally through research databases.
- Evaluate eligibility criteria and coordinate trial participation if appropriate.
- Rehabilitation & Assistive Technology
- Research and coordinate best-in-class vision rehabilitation programs.
- Evaluate assistive technologies and mobility training programs.
- Research Collaboration & Funding
- Identify leading researchers studying retinal degeneration.
- Evaluate opportunities to sponsor or fund research projects.
- Facilitate collaboration with universities and research labs.
- Knowledge & Reporting
- Maintain a structured knowledge base including research updates, therapy pipelines, and clinical trials.
- Provide weekly progress reports and monthly strategic reviews.
Education:
Preferred: MD (Ophthalmology, Genetics, or Neurology) OR PhD / MSc in Genetics, Biomedical Sciences, or Biotechnology.
Experience:
3-8 years experience in clinical research, biotech research, ophthalmology research, medical innovation scouting, or clinical trial coordination.
