About the Role (Job Objective)

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Business Development Manager to spearhead our domestic sales efforts, focusing on engagement with various Commands and fostering robust channel partner development across India.

The primary objective is to deeply understand the unique needs of our target customers within the defense and public sectors, and strategically position our competitive product portfolio to meet those demands.

This role is crucial for driving market penetration and achieving significant business growth.

Key Responsibility Areas

CRM-Driven Business Development & Sales Management:

- Develop, implement, and refine comprehensive business development strategies to significantly enhance market penetration and expand our overall business volume within the designated territory.

- Take full ownership and active management of the entire sales funnel, from lead generation and qualification to negotiation and closure, ensuring a healthy pipeline for the region/market.

- Utilize CRM tools effectively to track progress, analyze sales data, and forecast future opportunities, ensuring data-driven decision-making.

Target-Driven Execution:

- Rigorously monitor, analyze, and drive consistent sales growth and profitability, ensuring the achievement of ambitious sales targets and key performance indicators (KPIs).

- Implement tactical sales plans to capitalize on market opportunities and mitigate potential challenges.

Brand Awareness & Market Presence:

- Actively work to boost our brand visibility and reputation in the market through strategic client visits, compelling presentations, and active participation in industry exhibitions, tradeshows, and high-level business meetings.

- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, decision-makers, and influencers within the Commands and channel partner network.

Extensive Travel:

- Demonstrate a strong willingness and ability to travel extensively across PAN India to meet with clients, attend events, and explore new market opportunities as required by the role.

Technical Collaboration & Solution Definition:

- Serve as a critical liaison between clients and our internal technical teams.

- Work closely with the technical experts to clearly define, articulate, and communicate precise product specifications based on evolving client requirements and market trends.

- Ensure that proposed solutions align perfectly with customer needs and our product capabilities.

Proactive Opportunity Identification:

- Exhibit foresight in identifying potential business opportunities during the conceptual and early-stage phases of projects, often before official Request for Information (RFI) or Expression of Interest (EOI) are released.

- Develop proactive and winning strategies well in advance of tender announcements, giving us a significant competitive edge.

Effective Bid Management:

- Collaborate seamlessly with back-end executives, proposal teams, legal teams, and other internal departments to ensure the timely, accurate, and compelling preparation of bid documentation.

- Lead and coordinate effective participation in tenders, ensuring all submissions are compliant, competitive, and strategically aligned.

Qualification & Experience

- Education: Bachelor's degree in any relevant discipline.

- A Master's degree in Marketing/Sales (an MBA will be strongly preferred) is a significant advantage.

- Experience with Commands: Proven, extensive prior experience working directly with different Commands is essential.

- Candidates must possess very clear and in-depth knowledge of business development processes and strategies specifically within the Commands ecosystem.

- Overall Experience: 8 to 12 years of overall professional experience, with a minimum of 6 to 8 years in a similar business development or sales management role, ideally within a related industry.

- Self-Motivated: Highly driven, results-oriented, and able to work independently
