Role Overview:

We are seeking a seasoned Equity Research Analyst to join our Sell-Side team in Mumbai, focusing specifically on the Oil & Gas sector. In this role, you will be responsible for tracking industry trends, analyzing company performance, and generating high-conviction investment ideas for our institutional and retail clients. You will work closely with the broader research team and institutional sales desks to provide actionable insights that drive investment decisions. Your work will directly influence our firm's market stance on the energy sector, helping clients capitalize on macro-economic shifts and corporate developments.

Key Responsibilities:

- Conduct deep-dive fundamental research on Oil & Gas companies to identify valuation anomalies and investment opportunities.

- Build and maintain complex financial models to forecast earnings, cash flows, and balance sheet strength for coverage stocks.

- Author high-quality research reports, including initiation notes and sector updates, to provide clear investment theses for clients.

- Track regulatory changes, commodity price fluctuations, and geopolitical developments to assess their impact on the sector's profitability.

- Engage with company management teams and industry experts to gather proprietary insights and validate investment assumptions.

- Present research findings to the internal sales and trading teams to ensure effective communication of our house view.

Required Skillset:

- Demonstrated expertise in financial modeling and valuation techniques, specifically tailored to the capital-intensive nature of the Oil & Gas industry.

- Proven ability to synthesize vast amounts of data into concise, actionable investment recommendations for diverse client bases.

- Strong proficiency in using Bloomberg terminals for data extraction, market monitoring, and comparative analysis.

- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex sector dynamics to both institutional investors and internal stakeholders.

- A professional qualification such as a CFA charter or an MBA from a premier institute is highly preferred.

- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, on-site environment in Mumbai, maintaining high accuracy under the pressure of market events.

- 5 - 8 years of relevant experience in sell-side equity research, with a strong track record of covering the energy or commodities space.
