- Our client is seeking a Senior Finance Manager India to lead accounting, financial reporting, statutory compliance, and tax operations for India-based entities. This role will provide end to end ownership of finance operations in India while partnering closely with global finance leaders.
- The role requires strong controllership expertise, deep understanding of India GAAP, US GAAP, and Indian tax regulations, and the ability to manage audits, regulatory filings, and process improvements in a fastpaced professional services environment.
Key Responsibilities :
Accounting & Financial Close (India Entities) :
- Own and manage monthly, quarterly, and annual close for India legal entities
- Review general ledger, journal entries, accruals, and balance sheet reconciliations
- Ensure accurate accounting records in compliance with US GAAP and Indian GAAP (Ind AS, as applicable)
- Maintain and oversee the Fixed Assets Register and depreciation accounting
- Ensure timely and accurate recording of all financial transactions
Financial Reporting & Audit :
Prepare and review statutory and management financial statements for India entities
Lead statutory audits, tax audits, and internal audits, acting as the primary finance point of contact
Manage audit planning, documentation, walkthroughs, and timely closure of audit findings
Ensure compliance with all Indian regulatory and statutory reporting requirements
Taxation & Regulatory Compliance (India) :
- Oversee direct and indirect tax accounting and compliance, including TDS computations and returns, advance tax and final income tax computations and accounting and support for transfer pricing and income tax filings
- Manage GST compliance, including returns, reconciliations, and assessments
- Monitor, respond to, and coordinate resolution of notices from Indian tax authorities
- Liaise with internal tax teams and external tax advisors to ensure compliance and risk mitigation
- Oversee other nonfinancial statutory and regulatory filings, as applicable
Controls, Governance & Process Excellence :
- Ensure strong internal controls, compliance, and governance frameworks
- Identify and implement opportunities to standardize, automate, and streamline finance processes
- Support implementation and adherence to Aprio finance policies, procedures, and controls
- Drive continuous improvement through better utilization of ERP and reporting tools
Entity Management & Strategic Support
- Support legal entity management and rationalization, including accounting, tax, and administrative requirements
- Partner with Legal, Tax, HR, and Operations teams on entity level initiatives
- Provide accounting and compliance input for business decisions impacting India entities
Leadership & Stakeholder Management
- Act as a key finance partner to global and India leadership teams
- Review work of finance team members and provide coaching and guidance
- Support talent development, knowledge transfer, and team capability building
- Assist with adhoc initiatives and strategic projects as assigned by finance leadership
Qualifications & Experience :
Required :
Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA)
- 9+ years of progressive post qualification experience in accounting, finance, and taxation
- Strong hands on experience with India statutory accounting, audits, and tax compliance
- Solid working knowledge of IGAAP, US GAAP and global close environments
- Experience operating in professional services, financial services, or global organizations
