Micron Technology - Product Line Manager - Consumer SSD

- As Sr.Product Line Manager - Consumer SSD, for the Commercial Products Group, you will be charged with driving Micron's product strategy for the portable consumer SSD products.

- Applicant will be leading a collaborative cross-functional team that includes key members representing marketing, engineering, sales, operations, and production to define, develop, and deliver leadership consumer portable SSD solutions that position Micron for success in the fast paced and driven consumer storage market.

- The ideal candidate has extensive technical expertise, strong business acumen, voice-of-customer advocacy, and an entrepreneurial drive, enabling the candidate to pair a deep understanding of the customer & market with new consumer/client computing technologies and architectures.

- This fusion of technical & customer understanding should drive leadership at Micron for future potential of associated product opportunities.

- Candidates should have a proven track record of defining complex product strategies, a history of driving those strategies through to completion via a systematic product lifecycle management process (PLM), and customer-facing experience.

- This role requires outstanding skills in analytics, consumer & market understanding, passionate entrepreneurial spirit, and the ability to develop and leverage relationships both inside and outside the company.

Responsibilities:

- Understand and seek to influence the current & future trends in the consumer/client computing space and evaluate which storage trends make commercial and economic sense for Micron to pursue including business models, technologies, and application areas.

- Partner with leading personal computing eco-system providers to understand key technologies and innovation trends and provide analysis to determine best fit for Micron's product plans.

- Competitive analysis for portable SSD market with ability to communicate key takeaways to larger team.

- Define and implement Micron's long-term strategic roadmaps for consumer portable SSD storage and solutions.

- Produce business cases needed to drive the portfolio strategy through a defined product line management process.

- Drive relationships with industry analysts, developing and communicating Micron's portable consumer storage solution direction.

- Attendance and presentation at key client computing industry events.

- Work with Micron product marketing managers, Micron account managers, and partners to understand customer demand and market segmentation to drive applicable forecasts to support the product line.

- Develop cohesive go-to-market plans in conjunction with Product Marketing and other cross-functional teams for new product introduction.

- Align with the Design and Product Engineering organizations to ensure the customer voice is heard and represented throughout the R&D process.

- Work with Product Marketing, Outbound Marketing and Corporate Communications to define our market message for the consumer/client memory business and corresponding initiatives.

- Be the owner of your segment & products with limited day-to-day supervision.

Qualifications & Skills:

- 5+ years combined of product development, marketing, and customer experience in storage or technology-related field.

- (Consumer/Retail experience preferred).

- Ability to grasp complex financial, technical, and marketing information to develop product plans and strategies.

- Proven experience writing marketing requirements documents that bridge customer/technical needs into clearly defined features and benefits.

- Strong communication and presentation skills including to senior management.

- Demonstrated business acumen and critical thinking skills.

- Experience leading cross-functional teams and working across multiple locations.

- Ability to travel both domestically and internationally.

- Ability to operate & drive initiatives independently without direct supervision.

Experience / Education:

- A Bachelor/s Degree or equivalent in Engineering, Computer Science, or Business/Marketing.

- MBA (Preferred).
