Job Summary:
MGH Logistics is seeking a high-energy Sales Manager Freight Forwarding to drive the expansion of our air and sea cargo business across India. Reporting directly to the Country Head, you will be responsible for the end-to-end sales lifecyclefrom identifying high-potential trade lanes to onboarding global brands. This role requires a deep understanding of international logistics, a strong local network, and a proven track record in managing large-scale inbound/outbound shipments for major MNCs.
Key Responsibilities:
Market Expansion & Customer Onboarding:
- Identify and penetrate high-potential Trade Lanes (Air & Sea) to diversify the company's cargo portfolio.
- Execute aggressive business development strategies, including cold calling and face-to-face customer visits, to onboard new accounts.
Strategic Account Management:
- Act as the strategic partner for clients (e.g., P&G, Unilever, Inditex), aligning MGH's logistics solutions with their global supply chain plans.
- Manage and oversee Global Agent Relationships in defined markets to strengthen international network connectivity.
Operational Excellence & Compliance:
- Negotiate freight terms and service level agreements (SLAs), ensuring full compliance with international maritime and aviation regulations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement logistics plans that meet specific targets for cost, speed, and sustainability.
Sales Leadership & Performance:
- Monitor and drive the performance of the sales force within the assigned territory to achieve and exceed PAN India targets.
- Manage Account Receivables and maintain financial discipline across all handled accounts.
Supplier & Partner Coordination:
- Maintain and strengthen relationships with shipping lines, airlines, and local vendors to secure competitive pricing and space allocations.
Required Qualifications & Technical Skills:
- Industry Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience specifically in Freight Forwarding (FF) Sales or Business Development.
- Trade Knowledge: Robust understanding of Airfreight and Seafreight operations, Incoterms 2020, and custom clearance procedures.
- Local Market Intel: Extensive existing network and knowledge of local customers in the respective hiring city.
- Financial Acumen: Proficiency in managing freight margins, credit cycles, and negotiation of complex contracts.
- Education: Bachelors degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
Technical & Preferred Stack:
- Logistics Expertise: Trade Lane Analysis, Multi-modal Transport (Sea-Air), Warehousing Solutions.
- Business Development: Lead Generation, Value-added Service (VAS) Selling, Relationship Management.
- CRM & Tools: Proficiency in Logistics Management Systems (LMS), CRM platforms (Salesforce/Microsoft Dynamics), and advanced MS Excel for business reviews.
- Preferred: Prior experience catering to sectors like Retail, FMCG, or High-Tech.
