Job Title: Merchandiser Manager

Job Summary:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Merchandiser Manager to lead the merchandising function for our premium woven shirt production unit. The ideal candidate will be responsible for end-to-end merchandising activities, ensuring seamless coordination between buyers, production, sourcing, and design teams to deliver high-quality products on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
Buyer Interaction & Order Management:
- Handle all buyer communications, understand technical packs/specs, and ensure timely order confirmations.
- Monitor order booking, approvals, and shipment timelines.
Production Coordination:
- Work closely with production planning and control (PPC) to ensure timely execution of sampling and bulk orders.
- Monitor production schedules, quality parameters, and shipment readiness.
Product Development & Sampling:
- Coordinate with the design team to develop and present samples as per buyer requirements.
- Ensure timely approvals of lab dips, fit samples, and pre-production samples.
Vendor Management & Sourcing:
- Identify and manage reliable vendors for trims, fabrics, and accessories.
Costing & Negotiation:
- Prepare and finalize product cost sheets.
- Understanding of prices and cost impact with buyers and suppliers, maintaining desired profit margins.
Documentation & Compliance:
- Ensure adherence to documentation standards (PI, PO, invoices, packing lists, etc.)
- Support audit and compliance requirements as per buyer and factory standards.
Team Leadership:
- Lead and guide a team of junior merchandisers and coordinators.
- Provide training, performance monitoring, and motivation to the merchandising team.
Qualifications & Skills:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Textile Engineering / Fashion Technology / Apparel Merchandising / Business Administration. (Preferred: PG Diploma or MBA in Apparel Merchandising or related field.)
Experience: Minimum 15+ years in garment manufacturing (woven shirts preferred), with at least 5+ years in a managerial role.
Technical Skills:
- Strong knowledge of woven fabric types, shirt construction, and trims.
- Familiarity with production workflows, quality standards, and AQL systems.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, TNA charts, and ERP systems.
Soft Skills:
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
- Problem-solving mindset and ability to work under pressure.
