Role Overview

We are hiring an experienced Brand Merchandiser for one of the leading retail brands based in Gurgaon. This is a strategic role responsible for driving brand-led merchandising, ensuring the right assortment, range architecture, and inventory optimization to maximize commercial performance and brand consistency across channels.

The role requires close collaboration with design, buying, planning, and retail teams to deliver strong sell-through, healthy inventory turns, and a compelling brand story at every customer touchpoint.

Key Responsibilities:

Brand Merchandising & Assortment Strategy:

- Own brand merchandising strategy aligned with overall brand positioning and business goals.

- Lead assortment planning and range building across categories and seasons.

- Ensure optimal depth, width, and option count to balance fashion, volume, and profitability.

- Maintain consistent and strong brand representation across channels.

Sell-Through & Performance Analysis:

- Monitor sell-through, stock cover, and inventory health on a regular basis.

- Analyze category, style, and SKU-level performance to identify gaps and opportunities.

- Drive corrective actions such as replenishment, markdowns, and assortment optimization.

Inventory Planning & Optimization:

- Partner with planning teams to ensure efficient inventory allocation and replenishment.

- Drive inventory optimization, minimizing slow-moving stock and markdown risks.

- Support in-season management to improve turns, freshness, and availability.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

- Work closely with design teams to provide consumer and performance-led inputs.

- Partner with buying and sourcing teams to align product plans with commercial needs.

- Collaborate with retail and VM teams to ensure strong in-store execution.

Consumer, Trend & Market Insights:

- Track consumer trends, category performance, and competitive benchmarks.

- Translate insights into actionable merchandising decisions.

- Ensure assortments are relevant to target customers and regional preferences.

Omnichannel Alignment:

- Ensure merchandising strategies are aligned across offline and online channels.

- Support channel-specific assortment planning while maintaining brand coherence.

- Partner with e-commerce teams to drive online category performance.

Key Performance Areas (KRAs):

- Sell-through and inventory turn improvement

- Assortment productivity and category performance

- Stock freshness and markdown efficiency

- Brand consistency and in-store execution

- Revenue and margin contribution

Ideal Candidate Profile:

Must-Have:

- 8+ years of experience in brand merchandising within retail

- Strong background in assortment planning, range building, and sell-through analysis

- Hands-on experience working with design, buying, planning, and retail teams

- Strong understanding of consumer behavior and retail KPIs

Good-to-Have:

- Experience in omnichannel or fast-scaling retail brands

- Exposure to multiple product categories

- Strong analytical and data interpretation skills
