PURPOSE OF POSITION:
The Manager - Medical Advisor serves as the core scientific authority and disease area expert within the cross-functional Dermatology franchise. The primary purpose of this role is to drive the scientific enablement of the business by bridging the gap between clinical data and commercial strategy.
Working in a peer-to-peer capacity with national and international Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), the Medical Advisor is responsible for shaping the therapeutic landscape through evidence generation, medical education and the communication of complex scientific insights. This role ensures that all medical activitiesfrom new product evaluations to post-launch scientific engagementare executed with high integrity and in strict alignment with Indian regulatory codes (MCI and UCPMP) to support optimal patient outcomes.
MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Scientific Strategy & Franchise Support
- Develop and execute comprehensive Medical Strategies aligned with the overall dermatology franchise goals.
- Act as a therapeutic area expert to provide scientific rationales and support for regulatory submissions, including the preparation and execution of SEC meetings.
- Conduct robust medical evaluations for new products through intensive desk research and KOL interactions.
External Engagement & KOL Management
- Identify, engage, and maintain professional relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and other stakeholders (Physicians, Nurses, Scientific Societies).
- Communicate scientific data on both a proactive and reactive basis to address complex queries from Healthcare Professionals (HCPs) regarding company products or specific disease areas.
- Gather and synthesize field insightsregarding patient treatment trends and knowledge gaps to inform future medical and marketing programs.
Evidence Generation & Publications
- Plan and execute Real-World Clinical Research, including therapy-specific reviews, meta- analyses, case studies, and patient-reported outcomes.
- Collaborate with thought leaders to publish scientific findings in journals of repute, enhancing the organization's scientific presence.
- Identify data gaps and recommend special projects for evidence generation.
Medical Education & Training
- Conceptualize and manage a wide range of medical activities, including Advisory Board meetings, CME slides, and Medical Education programs.
- Lead "Hands-on" workshops featuring national and international faculty to advance clinical practice.
- Develop training manuals and product monographs; conduct scientific training for Sales and Marketing teams to ensure technical competency across the cluster.
Compliance & Content Review
- Ensure all promotional and non-promotional materials are reviewed, approved, and aligned with company processes and Indian regulations (MCI code and UCPMP).
- Manage the timely processing of scientific information requests from both internal and external stakeholders.
- Maintain high standards of integrity-driven decision-making within a matrix environment.

recommendations.

Qualifications and Experience
- MBBS with M.D. Pharmacology/ Medicine or full-time post-graduate qualification in any discipline of medicine.
- Preferably 3 to 5 years working experience in the pharmaceutical industry in a capacity of Medical Advisor.
- Deep knowledge of the therapeutic area, strength in research with knowledge of research methodologies and interpretation of medical data.
- Training in medical writing, clinical trial methodologies, research design and ICH GCP will be added advantage.
- Must have working knowledge of Indian regulations pertaining to Health care professionals interactions (MCI code of ethics for doctors & UCPMP Code for Pharma) and Drugs and Cosmetic Act regulations pertaining to clinical trials and new drug approvals.
- Strategic mindset with scientific acumen and communication skills in order to be accepted by leading specialists in peer-to-peer capacity.
- Experience with complex business environments preferred.
