MCLAREN - Technical Program Manager/Technical Delivery Manager

Description:

We are looking for a highly skilled Technical Program Manager / Technical Delivery Manager with a strong engineering foundation and proven experience in delivering complex IT services projects. This role blends technical leadership, project delivery excellence, and strategic client engagement.

The ideal candidate has progressed from Software Engineer Tech Lead Project/Delivery Manager, and is comfortable driving end-to-end delivery while also identifying new business opportunities within key accounts.

You will act as the primary technical and delivery liaison for enterprise clients, ensuring seamless execution, high-quality delivery, and continuous account growth.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Delivery & Program Management:

- Own end-to-end delivery for strategic client accounts across multiple projects.

- Lead project planning, execution, tracking, and governance.

- Manage cross-functional team workflows and ensure timely, high-quality delivery.

- Maintain RAID logs, run sprint ceremonies, and ensure teams adhere to delivery standards.

- Proactively identify risks, dependencies, and blockers and drive resolution.

2. Client Ownership & Relationship Management:

- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring strong and proactive engagement.

- Conduct weekly/monthly governance meetings, status reviews, and performance updates.

- Drive client satisfaction, manage escalations, and ensure long-term retention.

3. Technical Leadership:

- Translate business needs into clear technical requirements, architectures, and solution approaches.

- Facilitate technical discussions with engineering teams and challenge solutions when required.

- Leverage hands-on engineering experience to guide decision-making and ensure feasibility.

4. Pre-Sales & Solutioning:

- Participate in requirement discovery, scoping discussions, and proposal creation.

- Support effort estimation, SOW preparation, and solution walkthroughs.

- Work closely with sales and leadership teams to position capabilities with clients.

5. Account Growth / Mining:

- Identify opportunities for account expansion staff augmentation, managed services, or new project streams.

- Build growth strategies for existing accounts aligned with client priorities.

- Track account health, revenue pipeline, and engagement metrics.

6. Process Excellence:

- Implement and improve delivery governance frameworks, reporting mechanisms, and communication workflows.

- Drive continuous improvement in engineering collaboration, quality standards, and execution velocity.

- Ensure alignment with compliance, security, and technical best practices.

Required Qualifications:

Technical Background:

- 5+ years of hands-on experience as a Software Engineer or Technical Lead.

- Strong command over system architecture, APIs, integrations, cloud fundamentals, and modern engineering practices.

- Ability to understand and challenge technical designs and engineering decisions.

Delivery Experience:

- 3+ years as a Project Manager or Delivery Manager in an IT services/consulting environment.

- Experience delivering multi-team, multi-sprint projects for global clients.

- Solid understanding of Agile/Scrum/Kanban processes and delivery governance.

Client & Business Experience:

- 3+ years of client-facing experience managing enterprise accounts.

- Demonstrated success in handling escalations, expectation management, and executive-level communication.

- Exposure to account mining, renewals, upselling, or expansion opportunities.

Additional Requirements:

- Experience or exposure to GenAI, Agentic AI, or AI-driven systems (bonus).

- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

- Ability to work in fast-paced, high-ownership delivery environments.

- Based in Goa or willing to relocate.
