M&A Research Associate You will be responsible for supporting the M&A team in their go-to-market strategy. The role will primarily involve researching potential acquirers of businesses, analysing, and monitoring market trends and market sentiments as well as supporting the production of market, competitor, and company intelligence. Role and responsibilities: You will be responsible for: - Researching, compiling data, and conducting market analysis to support strategic development and targeting plans - Partnering with senior leadership to define and drive the M&A strategy and establish key go-to-market priorities - Identifying new opportunities in relevant sectors using various research channels and methodologies, creating powerful market insights, and considering how the landscape is expected to change - Producing regular reports tracking different Intermediaries across different sectors, identifying key trends, deal activity, competitors, and targets - Supporting the provision of commercial and strategic recommendations to internal stakeholders and preparation of client-facing materials - Working and collaborating with international colleagues to identify potential transactions and profile key targets Skills required: - Knowledge of market research methodologies - Ability to synthesise research and data into concise and comprehensive presentations using Excel, World and PowerPoint - Excellent written and verbal communication skills - Strong time management skills - Ability to work independently or in a small team setting against tight deadlines - Interest in M&A/Corporate Finance and willingness to learn about markets and transactions - Experience in a strategy or market research role is a plus
