Sales Training Leader - Masters' Union

Location: Gurugram, India

Function: Sales Training / Sales Enablement

About Masters' Union:

Masters' Union is a new-age business education company operating in a fast-paced, high-growth environment. Our sales organisation is central to our growth, and we are looking for an exceptional Sales Training Leader to build a world-class sales capability engine. This is not a traditional Learning & Development role. We are looking for a sales leader who is an exceptional trainer and coach, someone who understands the realities of selling, can diagnose why a salesperson is not converting, and can systematically raise the performance of an entire sales organisation.

The Role:

As Sales Training Leader, you will own the sales capability, training, coaching, and productivity agenda across the organisation. Your mandate is simple: Make our salespeople better, faster. You will work closely with the sales leadership team to identify performance gaps, build training interventions, coach teams, institutionalise best practices, and ensure that training translates into higher conversion, higher revenue per salesperson, and greater sales efficiency. You will be responsible not just for conducting training, but for building a system that continuously improves sales performance.

Key Responsibilities:

- Own the sales training strategy across the organisation.

- Build structured training programs for new hires, experienced salespeople, team leaders, and managers.

- Design practical modules around discovery, consultative selling, storytelling, pitching, objection handling, negotiation, follow-ups, and closing.

- Build and continuously evolve the Masters' Union sales playbook.

- Create clear standards for what great selling looks like.

- Build training journeys linked to specific stages of salesperson development.

- Training must translate into business outcomes.

- Identify the specific behaviours and skills driving differences in salesperson performance.

- Use sales data to identify capability gaps and training priorities.

- Improve conversion rates, revenue per salesperson, sales velocity, and productivity.

- Reduce new-hire ramp-up time.

- Identify why teams are losing prospects at different stages of the funnel.

- Design targeted interventions to solve those problems.

- Measure the impact of training on actual sales performance.

- Conduct regular call listening and call-quality reviews.

- Run live role plays and objection-handling drills.

- Conduct deal clinics and 1:1 coaching.

- Work with underperformers on specific behavioural gaps.

- Help top performers become even better.

- Coach sales managers on how to coach their own teams.

- Create a culture where salespeople actively seek feedback and continuously improve.

- Understand what our top 5-10% of sales talent does differently.

- Analyse top-performer calls and behaviours.

- Identify repeatable sales patterns.

- Convert those patterns into frameworks, scripts, exercises, and training.

- Create mechanisms to transfer those behaviours across the wider organisation.

- Continuously refresh the playbook based on what is working in the field.

- Train Sales Managers and Team Leaders to become exceptional coaches.

- Establish coaching frameworks and weekly coaching rhythms.

- Create manager scorecards and standards.

- Help managers diagnose performance rather than simply push for more activity.

- Build a strong internal bench of sales coaches and trainers.

- Own the connection between training activity and sales outcomes.

- Track metrics such as: Conversion rate, Revenue per salesperson, Sales productivity, Sales-cycle duration, Call-quality scores, Objection-handling effectiveness, New-hire ramp time, Training completion and adoption, Post-training performance improvement.

Key KPIs:

- Improvement in salesperson conversion.

- Increase in revenue per salesperson.

- Reduction in new-hire ramp time.

- Improvement in sales-call quality.

- Improvement in sales-cycle efficiency.

- Performance uplift following training interventions.

- Adoption of sales playbooks and processes.

- Improvement in manager coaching effectiveness.

- Overall sales productivity.

What Were Looking For:

- 8-15 years of experience in sales leadership, sales training, sales enablement, or revenue leadership.

- Strong preference for candidates who have personally been exceptional sales performers or sales leaders before moving into training.

- Proven experience training and coaching high-performing sales teams.

- Mandatory experience in a good, fast-paced startup or high-growth environment.

- Experience with high-ticket, consultative, B2C, inside, or education sales is highly preferred.

- Deep understanding of sales psychology, customer behaviour, objection handling, negotiation, and closing.

- Exceptional communication and presentation skills.

- Strong analytical ability and comfort working with sales-performance data.

- Ability to command a room and simultaneously be an excellent 1:1 coach.

- High energy, high standards, and a relentless focus on outcomes.

Education:

- A strong educational pedigree is preferred, with candidates from leading institutions in India or globally.

- An MBA from a top-tier institution is a strong plus.

- However, exceptional sales and training track record will matter more than credentials alone.

The Ideal Candidate:

- You are not a corporate trainer who happens to work with sales teams. You are a sales operator who became exceptional at building other salespeople.

- You understand the difference between a salesperson who is merely active and one who is genuinely effective.

- You can listen to a sales call and immediately identify: Where the salesperson lost control of the conversation, Whether the discovery was strong enough, Why the objection surfaced, What should have been said differently, Whether the prospect was actually qualified, What the salesperson should do next.

- You are obsessed with taking the behaviours of the best salespeople and making them repeatable across hundreds of people.

- You are equally comfortable running a room of 100 salespeople, conducting a live role play, reviewing a sales call, coaching a manager, or sitting with an underperforming salesperson and rebuilding their approach.

The Mandate:

- Build the best sales training and coaching organisation at Masters' Union.

- Make every salesperson better.

- Make every manager a better coach.

- Make the organisation learn faster.

- And ultimately, drive materially higher sales efficiency and revenue per salesperson.

- If you are passionate about sales, coaching, performance, and building high-performing teams at scale, this is an opportunity to have an outsized impact at Masters' Union.
