Job Description: Placement Head (Corporate Engagement & Career Services)

We are looking for an entrepreneurial Placement Head to lead our Career Services and Corporate Engagement function, driving exceptional student outcomes while building one of India's strongest employer ecosystems.
Role Overview:
The Placement Head will be responsible for developing and executing the institution's placement strategy, strengthening relationships with marquee employers, expanding global hiring opportunities, and ensuring outstanding career outcomes across programs.
This role requires a strategic leader with strong corporate networks, exceptional stakeholder management skills, and the ability to build high-performing teams capable of delivering world-class placement outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Placement Strategy & Leadership:
- Develop and execute the overall placement and employer engagement strategy across all academic programs.
- Drive annual placement planning, hiring calendars, recruiter engagement, and hiring campaigns.
- Build scalable placement processes that consistently deliver industry-leading career outcomes.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing Career Services and Corporate Relations team.
2. Corporate Partnerships:
- Build long-term relationships with CXOs, founders, CHROs, business leaders, venture-backed startups, consulting firms, MNCs, and global enterprises.
- Acquire new recruiters while strengthening partnerships with existing hiring organizations.
- Expand hiring opportunities across consulting, technology, BFSI, FMCG, healthcare, manufacturing, media, consumer, and emerging sectors.
- Develop strategic partnerships for internships, live projects, leadership hiring, international roles, and executive engagement.
3. Student Career Success:
- Design personalized placement strategies based on student aspirations, skills, and career goals.
- Oversee career coaching, interview preparation, resume reviews, assessment centers, and employer readiness initiatives.
- Ensure students are industry-ready through structured interventions and continuous feedback.
- Monitor placement readiness using data and analytics to maximize hiring outcomes.
4. Employer Experience:
- Deliver a best-in-class recruiter experience throughout the hiring lifecycle.
- Coordinate campus recruitment drives, leadership hiring events, networking sessions, and industry conclaves.
- Maintain strong post-placement relationships to ensure repeat hiring and long-term partnerships.
- Act as the primary escalation point for recruiters and strategic hiring partners.
5. Industry Engagement:
- Collaborate with founders, industry experts, investors, and alumni to identify emerging talent requirements.
- Leverage alumni networks to create mentorship and hiring opportunities.
- Partner with academic leadership to align curriculum with evolving industry needs.
- Build thought leadership initiatives that enhance employer perception and institutional brand.
6. Data & Operational Excellence:
- Own placement dashboards, hiring analytics, recruiter pipelines, and placement forecasts.
- Monitor key metrics including placement percentage, compensation trends, recruiter satisfaction, offer conversion rates, and student engagement.
- Ensure accurate reporting aligned with institutional and industry standards.
- Drive automation and technology adoption across career services operations.
Desired Candidate Profile:
- MBA or Postgraduate degree from a reputed institution.
- 12-18 years of experience in fast paced education startup, placements, corporate relations, talent acquisition, executive search, business development, or enterprise sales.
- Proven success in leading placement or corporate engagement functions within a premier B-school, university, or high-growth education institution.
- Strong network across consulting firms, Fortune 500 companies, startups, unicorns, private equity/venture capital ecosystem, and multinational organizations.
- Demonstrated experience in building strategic partnerships with senior business leaders and decision-makers.
- Strong understanding of hiring trends, talent markets, and future workforce requirements.
- Experience leading and scaling high-performing teams.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
- Strong analytical mindset with experience using data to improve placement outcomes.
