Role Overview
The HR Business Partner will work closely with academic leaders, program heads, and functional teams to drive people strategy, talent development, performance management, and culture building. This role is critical in aligning HR initiatives with business goals while supporting rapid growth and organizational transformation.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic HR Partnership
- Partner with business leaders to understand workforce needs and align HR strategies with institutional goals
- Act as a trusted advisor to leadership on organizational design, talent planning, and people decisions
- Support scaling teams while maintaining Masters Unions culture and values
Talent Management & Development
- Drive performance management cycles, goal setting, and feedback mechanisms
- Identify high-potential talent and design development, succession, and retention strategies
- Partner with L&D to design leadership development programs for faculty and corporate teams
Employee Relations & Engagement
- Manage employee relations, conflict resolution, and grievance handling
- Drive engagement initiatives, pulse surveys, and action plans
- Champion DEI, wellbeing, and a high-trust work environment
HR Operations & Compliance
- Ensure HR policies, processes, and practices are compliant with labor laws and institutional guidelines
- Support compensation planning, promotions, and role transitions
- Analyze HR metrics (attrition, engagement, performance) to inform decision-making
Change & Culture Building
- Lead change management initiatives during periods of rapid growth
- Embed Masters Unions values into performance, recognition, and everyday behaviors
- Support cross-functional collaboration between academic, corporate, and operations teams
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- MBA / Masters in Human Resources or equivalent
- 48 years of experience as an HRBP or in a strategic HR role
- Experience in startups, education, or high-growth organizations preferred
- Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills
- High business acumen with a people-first mindset
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and execution skills
