About Masters' Union:
Masters' Union is a new-age business school offering industry-immersive education, led by top CEOs, public leaders, and global faculty. Our flagship MBA program in Technology and Business Management has outpaced tier-1 premium B-schools of the country, such as IIMs and ISB, in placement outcomes, with top recruiters including DP World, Microsoft, BCG, Meta, and Google.
With an expanding global footprint, we are now growing our presence in Dubai and other international markets to drive post-MBA placements, global immersions, and executive learning partnerships. As we scale rapidly, execution quality across operations and events remains critical to our brand and student experience.
Role Overview:
We are looking for a Senior Manager - Operations & Events to own and drive end-to-end on-ground execution of Masters' Union's flagship events, programs, and high-stakes experiences.
This role is hands-on and execution-heavy, despite seniority. It requires strong individual contribution, physical presence on ground, and the ability to make real-time decisions under pressure. This is not a desk-based or review-only leadership role.
You will work closely with leadership, academics, admissions, marketing, admin, IT, finance, and external partners to ensure zero-failure execution of orientations, convocations, flagship events, residencies, immersions, and campus-wide experiences.
Female candidates are preferred due to the high-touch, student-facing, and on-ground nature of the role.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Events & On-Ground Execution:
- Own and personally execute large-scale events including orientations, convocations, leadership events, residencies, immersions, and flagship campus experiences.
- Be physically present on-ground during all critical execution windows and lead from the front.
- Manage venues, AV, seating, registrations, crowd flow, security, food, transport, and vendor coordination directly.
- Handle last-minute changes, breakdowns, and escalations independently and calmly.
- Act as the final on-ground authority to ensure a premium experience and zero public failure.
2. Operations Ownership & Delivery:
- Own end-to-end operational execution across events and programs, beyond planning and coordination.
- Work closely with Academics, Admissions, Marketing, Admin, IT, Finance, and external partners for seamless delivery.
- Build, maintain, and personally enforce detailed execution checklists, SOPs, and contingency plans.
- Anticipate risks early and resolve issues in real time without unnecessary escalation.
3. Stakeholder & Crisis Management:
- Personally handle students, parents, faculty, CXOs, vendors, and internal leadership during live execution.
- Manage high-pressure situations with authority, composure, and clear decision-making.
- Take full accountability for on-ground experience quality and stakeholder satisfaction.
4. Vendor, Budget & Control Management:
- Own vendor relationships, negotiations, timelines, and on-ground delivery quality.
- Ensure cost discipline, quality control, and accountability across all operational spend.
- Build and maintain a reliable vendor ecosystem for recurring events and programs.
5. Reporting & Continuous Improvement:
- Prepare concise post-event reviews highlighting execution gaps, risks, and improvement areas.
- Continuously refine operational playbooks to support scale and complexity.
- Provide hands-on guidance to junior operations staff during large executions.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- 10-15 years of experience in hardcore operations, large-scale events, or execution-heavy roles.
- Proven track record of hands-on, on-ground execution, not just managerial oversight.
- Comfortable working long hours during peak execution periods and event cycles.
- Strong ownership mindset with the ability to operate as a senior individual contributor when required.
- Experience in one or more of the following is strongly preferred:
- Premium education operations
- Large conferences / summits
- Hospitality / hotels
- Wedding / experiential event management
- High-touch edtech operations
Key Traits for Success:
- High stamina and physical presence during execution
- Calm, decisive, and authoritative under pressure
- Bias for action over escalation
- Strong attention to detail without losing big-picture control
- Comfortable operating in fast-paced, high-visibility environments
Perks of the Role:
- High ownership and visibility in brand-critical moments
- Direct exposure to senior leadership and founder-priority initiatives
- Opportunity to lead execution for some of the most visible experiences at Masters' Union
- Competitive compensation aligned with responsibility and impact
