We are seeking a highly accomplished Director - Delay and Quantum to join our senior leadership team. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in delay analysis, quantum assessment, forensic scheduling, and complex claims management within high-value construction and arbitration environments.

This strategic leadership role demands the ability to lead large, multi-disciplinary teams, drive thought leadership, and represent Masin in the most complex and high-profile international disputes. The Director will play a pivotal role in shaping the firm's technical delivery, client relationships, and business development strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

1) Provide executive leadership in the management and delivery of complex delay analysis and quantum assessments for high-value, multi-jurisdictional construction disputes and arbitration proceedings.

2) Direct and oversee the preparation, evaluation, and strategic presentation of delay and quantum expert reports, ensuring the highest levels of technical rigour, credibility, and compliance with international arbitration standards.

3) Serve as a primary expert witness or lead expert advisor in international arbitration forums (ICC, LCIA, SIAC, DIAC, etc.), mediations, and litigation proceedings.

4) Define and drive the department's technical strategy, methodologies, and standards for delay analysis (TIA, Windows, Collapsed As-Built, etc.) and quantum evaluation (loss and expense, prolongation costs, disruption claims).

5) Establish, grow, and maintain C-suite and senior-level client relationships, acting as the principal point of contact and trusted advisor for strategic accounts.

6) Lead business development efforts, including pursuit strategies, proposal development, and bid leadership for major engagements.

7) Champion innovation in forensic planning tools, quantum modelling techniques, and data analytics to enhance the quality and defensibility of expert outputs.

8) Oversee and mentor senior managers, managers, and analysts within the Delay and Quantum department, fostering a high-performance culture and continuous professional development.

9) Collaborate at the leadership level with legal counsels, barristers, solicitors, and in-house legal teams to formulate winning claims and defence strategies.

10) Monitor and interpret developments in construction law, arbitration jurisprudence, and industry practice, integrating insights into departmental approach and client advisory.

11) Contribute to Masin's thought leadership agenda through publications, conference participation, and industry engagement.

Key Requirements:

1) Educational Qualification: Degree in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field. Advanced qualifications in Arbitration, Contract Law, Delay Analysis, or Quantum are highly preferred. Membership of relevant professional bodies (e.g., RICS, CIArb, AACE) is a strong advantage.

2) Experience: 15+ years in delay analysis, quantum assessment, construction claims, and expert witness services, with a demonstrable track record in leading high-value, complex international disputes.

3) Technical Expertise: Mastery of delay analysis methodologies (TIA, As-Planned vs As-Built, Collapsed As-Built, Windows Analysis), quantum assessment frameworks (prolongation, disruption, loss and expense), and forensic scheduling tools (Primavera P6, Oracle, MS Project, TILOS).

4) Legal & Contractual Knowledge: Deep understanding of FIDIC, NEC, JCT, and bespoke construction contracts. Extensive experience in international arbitration rules and procedures (ICC, LCIA, SIAC, DIAC, UNCITRAL).

5) Leadership & Communication: Proven executive-level leadership with the ability to manage large teams, drive strategic direction, and communicate complex technical findings clearly to legal, commercial, and judicial audiences.

6) Business Development: Established network within the construction, legal, and arbitration communities, with a track record of winning and growing key client accounts.

Why Join Us?

1) Lead some of the most complex and high-profile construction disputes in the world, influencing outcomes at the highest levels of international arbitration.

2) Join a globally recognised expert witness firm ranked in the top tier of GAR 100 and Who's Who Legal, with an unmatched reputation for technical excellence and independence.

3) Shape the future of the Delay and Quantum practice, with full executive mandate to innovate, grow, and define industry standards.

4) Access to a collaborative, intellectually stimulating environment with a network of world-class experts across nine countries.

5) Exceptional career trajectory and the opportunity to be individually recognised as a leading expert in Who's Who Legal, Chambers & Partners, and The Legal 500.
