Role Overview:

Masin is looking for an experienced HR Manager - Operations to own the end-to-end HR operations function. This role is the backbone of the employee lifecycle at Masin - from the moment an offer is signed to the day an employee exits - and is responsible for ensuring policies, payroll, compliance, documentation, and employee relations run smoothly, accurately, and on time. The ideal candidate is a hands-on operator who is equally comfortable interpreting labour law, running payroll cycles, and having a difficult conversation with an employee raising a grievance.

Key Responsibilities:

Policy Management:

- Design, implement, and periodically review HR policies and the employee handbook to ensure they remain relevant, legally sound, and aligned with Masin's culture and business needs.

- Act as the point of reference for employees and managers on policy interpretation and ensure consistent application across the organization.

Statutory & Regulatory Compliance:

- Ensure full compliance with applicable labour laws and statutory requirements (PF, ESI, PT, gratuity, Shops & Establishment Act, POSH, and other applicable state/central regulations).

- Maintain statutory registers and filings, coordinate audits and inspections, and keep the organization inspection-ready at all times.

- Track changes in labour law and proactively update internal practices accordingly.

Payroll Administration:

- Own the monthly payroll cycle end-to-end - inputs, validation, coordination with finance/payroll vendors, and timely, error-free disbursement.

- Manage statutory deductions, reimbursements, full & final settlements, and Form 16/tax-related coordination.

- Handle payroll queries and discrepancies with accuracy and confidentiality.

Onboarding:

- Own the new hire onboarding experience - offer-to-joining coordination, documentation collection, background verification, induction scheduling, and system/access setup.

- Work with department heads to ensure new joiners are set up for success in their first 90 days.

Offboarding:

- Manage the exit process including resignation processing, exit interviews, clearance coordination across departments, full & final settlement, and relieving/experience letter issuance.

- Identify and report attrition trends to leadership.

HR Documentation & Records:

- Maintain accurate, audit-ready employee records - offer letters, contracts, personal files, policy acknowledgements, and statutory documentation - in compliance with data privacy and retention requirements.

- Ensure documentation processes are standardized and easily retrievable.

Employee Engagement:

- Plan and drive engagement initiatives, feedback mechanisms (surveys, pulse checks, skip-levels), recognition programs, and events that strengthen culture and retention.

- Partner with managers to act on engagement insights.

Grievance Handling:

- Serve as the first point of contact for employee grievances and workplace concerns.

- Investigate issues fairly and confidentially, escalate appropriately, and ensure timely, policy-compliant resolution.

- Manage the internal complaints process, including POSH-related matters, in coordination with the Internal Committee.

Qualifications & Skills:

- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA/PGDM in HR preferred.

- Minimum 8 years of progressive experience in HR operations, with demonstrated ownership of payroll, compliance, and employee relations.

- Strong working knowledge of Indian labour laws and statutory compliance requirements.

- Hands-on experience with HRMS/payroll systems.

- Excellent interpersonal and conflict-resolution skills, with the judgment to handle sensitive matters with discretion.

- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, especially around documentation and audit readiness.

- Ability to work independently and take end-to-end ownership of the HR operations function.

What Masin Offers:

- The opportunity to build and shape HR operations processes with real ownership.

- A collaborative, on-site work environment.

- Direct visibility to and mentorship from HR leadership.
