Mashreq - Team Leader - Trade Operations - Exports Domain

Key Responsibilities:

- Conduct compliance reviews for LC, SBLC, and Collection documents under Export/Import trade finance in accordance with the Banks internal policies and ICC guidelines.

- Perform sanction screening of all relevant parties mentioned in trade documents.

- Handle and process Commodity Trade Operations documents, ensuring accuracy and regulatory adherence.


- Input trade documents into internal systems accurately and prepare SWIFT messages for transaction advising and settlement.

- Ensure all Trade Finance transactions are processed timely and in line with regulatory standards and internal SOPs.

- Identify and report potential compliance issues or gaps in documentation to the Team Head and ensure timely resolution.

- Maintain and share documentation errors or customer rejections with the wider team to support continuous improvement and customer service excellence.

- Coordinate with stakeholders across departments to resolve discrepancies and ensure smooth trade transaction processing.

- Perform ad-hoc tasks assigned by the Team Head as per operational requirements.


Required Qualifications & Skills:


- Bachelors Degree in Finance, Business, or related field.

- ACAMS Certification (mandatory).

- 5-8 years of experience in Trade Operations, specifically in Export and Import document handling.

- Minimum 23 years of experience in Trade Compliance review is essential.

- Strong knowledge and understanding of Trade Finance documentation, ICC rules (e.g., UCP 600, ISBP), and SWIFT standards.

- Experience in handling Commodity Trade documentation is an added advantage.

- Proficiency in MS Office tools, particularly Excel and Word.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to coordinate with internal teams and clients.

- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to interpret trade documents accurately.

- Ability to work under pressure, manage deadlines, and lead by example in a collaborative team environment.

- Familiarity with banking transaction processing systems.
