The Senior General Manager Sales must deal with competitors, often facing pricing pressures from low-cost producers while also differentiating based on quality and service.



Retaining existing customers and expanding into new markets or industries requires innovative approaches, as customers increasingly demand tailored solutions, better service, and competitive pricing.



Building a strong brand and conveying value beyond price requires creativity in marketing strategies.



Bridging the gap between sales and marketing to create a unified approach can be challenging, particularly when aligning short-term sales targets with long-term brand-building objectives.



Managing client expectations amidst delays or shortages in production and delivery.



Ensuring consistent team performance and morale while adapting to shifting business priorities.



Key Result Areas/Accountabilities



Supporting Actions



To Achieve monthly & annual Sales, market Share & NSR targets.



- Achieve or exceed revenue & market share targets through effective sales strategies.



- Drive sales growth in both core and emerging markets.



- Focus on increasing profitability by managing margins and increasing NSR.



- Identify and enter new market segments, or geographic regions.



Channel Management



- To achieve primary & secondary dealer appointment target



- Training & development of dealers to achieve sales targets



- To replace non-performing dealers



- Market mapping & identification of areas with potential to appoint new dealers & retailers



- Credit worthiness checking of all dealers & deciding on credit limit



Execute Tactical Marketing Plans



- Develop and implement comprehensive marketing plans to enhance brand positioning and visibility.



- Manage product positioning, pricing strategies, and promotional activities to generate demand.



- Lead campaigns to differentiate the company's products based on quality, service, and innovation.



- Elevate the brand through ground level activities, events, trade shows and direct marketing campaigns.



Launch New products & applications



- Market study/feasibility to identify new product & application segments.



- Work with manufacturing & engineering team for new product development



- Launch new products & achieve volume targets



- Competitive price evaluation & controlling the daily price opening mechanism



- Analyze industry trends, customer needs, and competitor activities to guide sales and marketing initiatives.



Customer Relationship Management



- Ensure customer satisfaction through personalized service, responsive communication, and timely delivery.



- Build long-term relationships with key clients, ensuring high retention rates.



- Lead negotiations for large contracts and long-term supply agreements.



Sales Planning and Market Insights



- Provide accurate sales forecasts and market insights to inform strategic decision-making.



- Lead sales planning to support manufacturing to procure raw materials & production in right quantity.



- Support team in order punching, invoicing, credit control & logistics planning.



- Data analysis & MIS control



Team Leadership and Development



- Lead, mentor, and motivate the sales and marketing teams to ensure high performance.



- Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and customer-centricity within the team.



- Implement training and development programs to enhance team skills and performance.



Languages:



Candidates should speak and understand any one of the languages of Telugu, Tamil, Kannada



Note: Candidate need more of Sales & Mktg Strategy person ( like planning, MIS, promotions, new product & new market entry) & less of direct sales person ( like he would have worked as Regional Sales manager/DGM sales in one of Southern states & then moved to HQ for taking care of Marketing/Planning role).
