Head of Sales & Marketing - Job Description
Role Summary:
The Head of Sales & Marketing will be responsible for leading the development and execution of the company's sales and marketing strategies to achieve growth, profitability, and customer satisfaction. This role involves strategic planning, team leadership, and ensuring seamless execution of sales and marketing initiatives in alignment with the company's objectives and policies.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Sales and Business Development Strategy:
Develop, evaluate, and implement the overall sales and business development plan in line with company policies, ensuring alignment with organizational goals. Seek approval from Management for execution.
2. Budget Planning and Management:
Prepare the annual Sales & Marketing budget, outlining projections for product sales, quantities, territories, pricing strategies, resource needs, expenditures, and profit targets. Submit for Management approval.
3. Pricing Strategy:
Review and propose product price ranges on a quarterly basis, presenting these recommendations to Management for approval.
4. Sales & Marketing Policy Formulation:
Create and update the company's sales and marketing policies, including payment terms, delivery conditions, territorial distribution, distributor/agent appointments, and commission structures. Submit policies for Management approval.
5. Marketing Strategy Adaptation:
Adjust marketing strategies as needed based on changes in the production plan, ensuring alignment with overall company goals and seeking Management approval for execution.
6. Leadership and Team Management:
Provide strong leadership to the sales and marketing team, fostering a high-performance culture and ensuring alignment with company objectives.
7. Customer Relationship Management:
Build and maintain strategic relationships with existing customers to ensure high levels of satisfaction and long-term loyalty. Address customer complaints or conflicts, resolving issues in a timely and professional manner to retain customer trust.
8. New Business Development:
Identify and evaluate new business opportunities, customers, and territories in line with the company's growth plan. Expand the customer base for both existing and new products.
9. Contract & Agreement Management:
Oversee the review and execution of contracts, agreements, and purchase orders. Ensure all documents align with company policies, suggesting amendments to terms and conditions when necessary.
10. Customer Education & Training:
Educate customers, buyers, and agents on the company's products, specifically Bromine products, and provide guidance on ISO tank handling and movement as per established SOPs.
11. Logistics & Documentation Oversight:
Manage and streamline transportation, logistics, and export-import documentation. Coordinate the activities of clearing and forwarding agents to ensure efficient operations.
12. Pricing Strategy & Market Positioning:
Develop and implement competitive pricing strategies, regularly reviewing rates to maximize profitability and enhance the company's market share.
13. Business Improvement Initiatives:
Lead initiatives aimed at driving business improvements, including refining pricing models, reducing costs, optimizing sales operations, and introducing process improvements and innovations to enhance customer satisfaction.
Qualifications & Skills:
Education:
- B.E. in Chemical Engineering or M.Sc. in Chemistry.
- Post-graduate qualification in Marketing (MBA or equivalent preferred).
Experience:
15 to 20 years of experience in Sales and Marketing (preferably in bromine and industrial salt) or preferably within the chemical manufacturing industry.
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of pricing strategies, business development, and market analysis.
- Exceptional leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal abilities.
- Solid understanding of export-import processes and logistics.
- Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
