Job Summary:
The Senior Manager Maintenance will lead and manage end-to-end maintenance operations across manufacturing facilities, ensuring optimal equipment reliability, minimum downtime, and compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards. This strategic role involves planning preventive and predictive maintenance, managing large teams, optimizing maintenance costs, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational excellence.
Key Roles & Responsibilities:
- Head overall maintenance operations including mechanical, electrical, utilities, and instrumentation functions.
- Develop and implement preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance strategies to ensure high equipment availability and plant reliability.
- Drive reduction in machine downtime, maintenance costs, and breakdown frequency through robust maintenance planning and root cause analysis (RCA).
- Lead and mentor maintenance teams, contractors, and service providers; ensure manpower planning and skill development.
- Prepare and manage annual maintenance budgets, capex planning, and cost-control initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with safety, statutory, environmental, and quality standards (ISO, OSHA, TPM, etc.).
- Coordinate with production, quality, engineering, and supply chain teams to align maintenance activities with operational goals.
- Oversee installation, commissioning, and modification of plant equipment and utilities.
- Implement and monitor CMMS / EAM systems for maintenance planning, scheduling, and reporting.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives such as TPM, Kaizen, 5S, Lean Manufacturing, and reliability improvement projects.
- Manage vendor relationships, AMC contracts, spare parts planning, and inventory optimization.
- Support audits and ensure timely closure of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Report key maintenance KPIs to senior leadership and recommend strategic improvements.
