The Role

This is a unique and exciting opportunity for an experienced, entrepreneurial leader to be the first employee and foundational architect of the companys India Global Capability Center (GCC). As Managing Director, you will be responsible for establishing and scaling the entire India operations.


You will begin by leading a core team of 1015 professionals across HR, Recruiting, Finance, Accounts, Pre-Sales, and Marketing, with a clear mandate to grow the center into a strategic asset for the global organization. This role requires a hands-on leader who thrives in a startup environment, is comfortable with ambiguity, and has a proven track record of building successful GCCs from the ground up.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Setup & Execution

- Serve as the primary owner for establishing the companys legal entity and operational footprint in India.

- Lead the process of setting up the initial office in a shared workspace in Bangalore, managing all logistical and administrative aspects.

- Engage and manage relationships with local authorities, legal consultants, and external partners to ensure compliance with Indian regulations (FEMA, Companies Act, labor laws, etc.

- Develop and execute the strategic roadmap for GCC growth, aligned with the global leadership teams vision.

Team Leadership & Culture Building

- Recruit, onboard, and lead the foundational team across all corporate functions.

- Foster a high-performance, collaborative, and entrepreneurial culture that reflects the companys global values.

- Act as the bridge between the India team and U.S. headquarters, ensuring seamless communication and cultural alignment.

- Mentor and develop the local leadership team, building a strong succession pipeline.

Operational Excellence

- Establish and oversee day-to-day operations of all corporate functions within the GCC.

- Implement robust processes and internal controls, particularly in Finance and HR, ensuring

efficiency and compliance.

- Manage P&L for the India entity, including budgeting, forecasting, and reporting in

collaboration with the global finance team.

Stakeholder Management

- Serve as the primary point of contact in India for the global leadership team.

- Build and maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders, including government bodies, industry associations, and potential partners.

Ideal Candidate Profile

- Proven experience in establishing and scaling a GCC in India (preferably for a U.S.-based organization).

- Strong knowledge of Indian regulatory frameworks (FEMA, labor laws, Companies Act, etc.

- Demonstrated success in building and leading cross-functional teams in HR, Finance, Operations, and Corporate functions.

- Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to thrive in a startup-like environment.

- Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and cross-cultural communication skills.

- Experience managing P&L and driving operational excellence.
