The Role:
Workday US Payroll
Advises, leads and works on high impact activities within the systems development lifecycle, and provides advisory work for the IT function itself.
Key Responsibilities:
- Expected to be an SME.
- Collaborate and manage the team to perform.
- Responsible for team decisions.
- Engage with multiple teams and contribute on key decisions.
- Expected to provide solutions to problems that apply across multiple teams.
- Facilitate knowledge sharing and best practices among team members.
- Monitor project progress and ensure alignment with strategic objectives.
Skills Required:
- Proficiency in Workday US Payroll
- Demonstrated hands-on experience with the Workday Payroll module specific to U.S. payroll processing.
- Ability to configure and manage pay components, earnings, deductions, tax setups, and payroll processing within Workday.
- Expertise in resolving payroll discrepancies and ensuring accurate end-to-end payroll runs.
- In-depth Knowledge of U.S. Payroll Processing & Compliance
- Strong understanding of federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations, including FLSA, IRS, W-2/W-4 requirements, and other statutory obligations.
- Experience in System Integration & Data Migration
- Proven experience in integrating Workday Payroll with third-party systems (Time Tracking, Benefits, Finance, etc.).
- Skilled in using Workday EIB, Core Connectors, or Studio for data movement and automation.
- Ability to handle end-to-end payroll data migration from legacy systems to Workday, including data cleansing, transformation, validation, and reconciliation.
- Analytical Ability to Interpret Payroll Data
- Proficiency in analyzing payroll outputs to identify trends, inconsistencies, or areas for improvement.
- Capable of providing payroll insights to support HR, Finance, and Compliance decision-making.
- Experience in handling complex payroll scenarios including retro payments, audits, and cost impact analysis.
Qualifications & Experience: The candidate should have minimum 12 years of experience in Workday US Payroll.
