Job Description: Manager - Taxation & Finance (US)

Role overview

A well-funded tech enabled startup is hiring a Manager - Finance & Taxation to strengthen their finance team and support global operations. This role will be pivotal in ensuring compliance across direct, indirect, and international tax, while also working closely with leadership on structuring, tax planning, and IPO readiness

You will report directly to the Financial Controller and work closely with the CFO and leadership in a lean, high-ownership environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage end-to-end direct tax, indirect tax (GST), and compliance requirements as per US laws including Sales Tax, Use Tax, Personal Tax.

- Handle tax filings, assessments and regulatory compliance.

- Partner with external consultants to optimize tax structures and ensure efficient cross-border fund flows.

- Identify and implement tax-efficient strategies while maintaining compliance.

- Support audits, statutory filings, and due diligence activities in preparation for IPO.

- Provide strategic input on global taxation structures across multiple geographies.

- Collaborate with business teams to align financial operations with compliance requirements.

Requirements

- Chartered Accountant (CA) or equivalent professional qualification with experience in taxation (direct + indirect), compliance, and international tax.

- Prior exposure to US tax regulations (experience with tech/startup clients preferred).

- Strong understanding of litigation, assessments, and compliance frameworks.
