US Tax Manager 1065
Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced US Tax Manager 1065 to manage and oversee US partnership tax engagements, with strong expertise in Form 1065, federal and state tax compliance, tax review, and tax planning. The ideal candidate will have experience handling complex partnership structures, reviewing tax returns, managing client relationships, and leading a team of tax professionals.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage US partnership tax engagements involving Form 1065 U.S. Return of Partnership Income.
Prepare, review, and finalize complex federal and state partnership tax returns.
Review tax workpapers, supporting schedules, allocations, and tax adjustments for accuracy and completeness.
Handle partnership tax matters involving K-1s, partner allocations, capital accounts, distributions, contributions, and ownership changes.
Review and analyze federal and state tax compliance requirements for partnership entities.
Support tax planning and advisory activities for partnership clients and identify potential tax-saving opportunities.
Research and interpret changes in US federal and state partnership tax laws and regulations.
Review complex tax positions and ensure appropriate documentation and support.
Manage multiple engagements, deliverables, timelines, and client priorities.
Act as a key point of contact for clients and address technical and tax-related queries.
Coordinate with onshore teams, clients, and internal stakeholders to ensure timely and high-quality delivery.
Review work prepared by Associates and Senior Associates and provide technical guidance and feedback.
Lead, mentor, and develop team members through coaching, knowledge sharing, and performance feedback.
Monitor engagement quality and ensure compliance with internal processes and professional standards.
Identify opportunities to improve tax processes, workflows, automation, and engagement efficiency.
Support client relationship management and business development activities when required.
Required Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or a related field.
610 years of relevant experience in US Partnership Tax.
Strong hands-on experience with Form 1065 and partnership taxation.
Experience preparing and reviewing US federal and state partnership tax returns.
Strong knowledge of partnership tax compliance, allocations, and reporting requirements.
Experience with tax review, tax planning, and tax research.
Prior experience managing or mentoring a team of tax professionals.
Strong client management and communication skills.
Experience working with US-based clients or within a CPA/accounting firm environment is preferred.
