The Anchor group of companies was started by the brothers, Mr. Damjibhai Shah and Mr. Jadavjibhai Shah, in 1964, with the introduction of a range of electrical switches and accessories in India, under the flagship brand - Anchor-. The group was the first manufacturer to introduce piano - type switches in the market and soon established itself as a market leader in electrical switches and wiring devices in India. AHBL manufactures FMCG products - primarily oral care products and soap products. The company launched its flagship brand - Anchor White- toothpaste in 1996 and subsequently diversified its product portfolio and introduced soaps (brand - Dyna- ), toothbrushes and toothpowder. The - Dyna- soap is Grade 1 premium soap, with a high TFM (total fatty matter) of 76%. The company has two factories - at Haridwar, Uttarakhand and Kutch, Gujarat and about 38 branches spread across the country, with head office at Mumbai.
