Manager - Taxation - CA

Position Overview

The Manager - Taxation will be responsible for managing day-to-day tax compliance and supporting tax-related matters across Direct and Indirect Taxation. The role focuses on execution, review, reconciliations, and coordination, while also assisting in audits, assessments, and basic advisory.

Key Responsibilities

1. Indirect Taxation (GST)

- Ensure timely preparation and filing of GST returns (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, annual returns)

- Perform GST reconciliations and monitor input tax credit

- Ensure correct tax treatment and classification of transactions

- Assist in handling GST notices, audits, and departmental queries

- Coordinate with internal teams for GST-related data and clarifications

2. Direct Taxation

- Prepare and review income tax computations and returns

- Manage TDS/TCS compliance including returns and reconciliations

- Support advance tax calculations and tax provisioning

- Assist in responding to tax notices and assessment queries

- Maintain documentation for all direct tax compliances

3. Compliance & Reporting

- Ensure adherence to applicable tax laws and timelines

- Maintain accurate records and tax documentation

- Support statutory and tax audits

- Assist in tax disclosures in financial statements

4. Coordination & Execution

- Liaise with external consultants and auditors

- Work closely with Finance and other departments for data and compliance

- Track changes in tax laws and support implementation

5. Process Improvement

- Identify gaps in compliance processes and suggest improvements

- Support automation and system-driven controls (ERP/SAP environment)

Key Skills & Competencies

- Good working knowledge of GST and Income Tax

- Strong attention to detail and compliance orientation

- Ability to manage timelines and multiple tasks

- Effective communication and coordination skills

Qualification & Experience

- Chartered Accountant (qualified CA)

- 4-7 years of experience in taxation (Direct and Indirect)

- Experience in handling GST and direct tax compliance
