
Key Responsibilities:
Direct Tax & Advisory:
- Manage assignments across Domestic Direct Tax and International Tax.
- Handle tax compliance, advisory, research and litigation-support assignments.
- Review corporate and individual income-tax returns, tax audits and related compliances.
- Research tax provisions, judicial precedents, circulars and regulatory developments.
- Prepare tax opinions, advisory notes, submissions and client deliverables.
- Assist in assessments, appeals and representation before relevant tax authorities.
- Conduct direct-tax due diligence and identify potential tax exposures and risks.
- Advise clients on tax implications of business and commercial decisions.
Audit & Assurance:
- Manage audit assignments from planning through completion.
- Handle or supervise Statutory Audit, Internal Audit, IFC and Tax Audit assignments.
- Review financial statements, working papers, audit documentation and reports.
- Identify accounting, audit, reporting and compliance risks.
- Ensure assignments comply with applicable Standards on Auditing, Ind AS, Companies Act and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate with clients and ensure timely completion of audit deliverables.
- Support Partners on complex and high-value audit engagements.
Client Management & Business Development:
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients.
- Understand client requirements and identify opportunities across Tax, Audit, Advisory and other Firm services.
- Participate in client meetings, proposals, presentations and business discussions.
- Generate business opportunities through professional networks, referrals and market outreach.
- Support Partners in client acquisition, cross-selling and account development.
- Contribute to the Firm's business development and practice-growth initiatives.
Team Management:
- Supervise, review and guide junior team members.
- Allocate assignments and monitor timelines and deliverables.
- Provide technical guidance and on-the-job mentoring.
- Ensure quality, accuracy and timely completion of team deliverables.
- Contribute to internal training and knowledge-sharing initiatives.
Candidate Profile:
The ideal candidate should have:
- Strong experience in Direct Tax and/or Audit & Assurance.
- Good understanding of Indian Direct Tax and relevant regulatory provisions.
- Experience in Statutory Audit, Internal Audit, IFC and/or Tax Audit.
- Strong analytical and tax-research capabilities.
- Good understanding of Ind AS, Companies Act and Standards on Auditing.
- Strong client-facing and relationship-management skills.
- Ability to independently manage multiple assignments and deadlines.
- Experience in supervising and reviewing junior professionals.
- Commercial orientation and interest in business development.
- Strong communication, drafting, presentation and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work closely with Partners, clients and internal teams.
Qualification & Experience:
- CA qualification is mandatory.
- 6 - 10 years of relevant post-qualification experience.
- Experience in a Chartered Accountant firm, professional services firm, consulting firm or similar environment preferred.
- Candidates with combined exposure to Tax, Audit, Advisory and Client Management will be preferred.
- Prior experience in business development, client acquisition or cross-selling will be an advantage.
