Manager - Supply Chain Planning
Description:
Lead and manage a regional supply chain operations team responsible for inventory planning, supply and production planning, and regional order processing within a defined business unit. The role ensures effective execution of end-to-end supply chain processes, covering demand planning through order-to-cash at a regional level.
This position oversees all activities across the Order-to-Cash and Supply Chain workflowsfrom order receipt to invoicingwith a strong focus on sales order management, shipment planning and monitoring, service-level performance, and timely completion of each step in the order fulfilment process. The role requires close coordination with sales forecasts, pricing controls, and credit limit assessments to deliver high service levels while maintaining optimal inventory.
The incumbent owns the operational customer experience and serves as the primary interface between customers, sales teams, integrated planning functions, and logistics operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Team & Operational Leadership:
- Lead, develop, and manage a regional supply chain operations team in alignment with overall SCM objectives.
- Handle workforce planning, hiring, performance evaluations, time management, and disciplinary processes as required.
- Coach and mentor team members to ensure adherence to processes, productivity standards, and service-level expectations.
- Develop and maintain the Master Production Schedule (MPS) to meet customer demand while optimising production capacity and efficiency.
- Utilise planning and execution systems to create detailed production schedules and conduct regular reviews to adjust plans based on changing requirements.
Raw Material & Inventory Management:
- Plan raw material replenishment and initiate purchase requisitions in coordination with procurement and manufacturing teams.
- Monitor material availability, consumption, and supplier performance.
- Drive working capital optimisation and inventory performance in line with business targets, including leading regular inventory review meetings.
Order Management & Customer Service:
- Manage regional sales orders end-to-end, from order receipt through fulfilment and invoicing.
- Coordinate with planning, production, and logistics teams to meet customer delivery commitments.
- Execute allocation strategies and recommend optimal delivery solutions.
- Act as the primary point of contact for customer queries, ensuring timely, accurate, and professional communication.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Compliance:
- Partner closely with sales, logistics, and production teams to align on customer requirements and operational priorities.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and global process standards.
- Maintain data accuracy across systems and manage approvals for order releases in line with governance guidelines.
Experience & Skills:
Education:
- Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, Science, or a related discipline.
Experience:
- 10+ years of experience in supply chain operations, order management, production planning, or related roles.
- Proven experience leading teams and managing regional or complex operational scopes.
Key Skills:
- Strong working knowledge of ERP systems, particularly Order-to-Cash and Plan-to-Make processes.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities with a proactive, customer-focused mindset.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to operate effectively in a cross-functional, fast-paced environment.
