Position Summary
The role is responsible for end-to-end procurement and supply management of copper and aluminium materials critical to manufacturing and operational requirements. The position requires a strategic and analytical professional with strong knowledge of metals sourcing, supplier management, and market dynamics to ensure cost-effective, timely, and quality material availability.
Key Responsibilities
Material Procurement Strategy:
- Develop and execute procurement strategies for copper and aluminium, aligned with business objectives, production plans, and cost targets.
Supplier Management:
- Identify, evaluate, and manage supplier relationships to ensure consistent quality, reliable supply, and competitive pricing.
Market Intelligence & Analysis:
- Monitor global metals markets, track price trends, risks, and supply-demand dynamics, and provide actionable insights to support sourcing decisions.
Commercial Negotiation & Contracting:
- Lead supplier negotiations on pricing, contracts, and commercial terms while building long-term strategic partnerships.
Inventory Planning & Control:
- Collaborate with production and operations teams to forecast material requirements, maintain optimal inventory levels, and avoid shortages or excess stock.
Cost Optimization:
- Drive continuous cost-saving initiatives through strategic sourcing, alternate suppliers, and value engineering without impacting quality or delivery.
Risk Management:
- Identify supply chain risks related to price volatility, supplier dependency, and disruptions; develop mitigation and contingency plans.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Materials Management, or related discipline.
- MBA / Postgraduate qualification in Supply Chain, Operations, or Procurement is preferred.
Experience Requirements
- 6-10 years of experience in procurement or supply chain management, preferably in metals, manufacturing, power, infrastructure, or heavy engineering sectors.
- Hands-on experience in sourcing copper and aluminium or other key raw materials.
- Strong exposure to supplier negotiations, contract management, and market-driven sourcing.
- Experience working with ERP systems (SAP or equivalent) and advanced Excel tools.

- Strong understanding of global commodity markets (copper & aluminium).
- Excellent negotiation, analytical, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to manage cost, quality, and delivery trade-offs effectively.
- High attention to detail with a strategic and risk-aware mindset.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally.
