Role Overview:
The Manager Supply Chain & Logistics will be responsible for managing warehouse and distribution center operations, ensuring timely dispatches, service-level adherence, and effective coordination with internal and external stakeholders. The role will focus on customer service, inventory health, returns management, and operational excellence within a structured WMS-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Warehouse & Distribution Operations
- Act as the warehouse in-charge and manage day-to-day coordination with customers, branches, distribution centers, and transporters.
- Track dispatches, resolve customer queries, and address transportation-related issues in line with defined escalation protocols.
Inventory & SLA Management
- Maintain healthy finished goods inventory levels across warehouses and DCs.
- Monitor and manage SLAs of logistics and service providers to ensure effective DC operations.
Customer Complaints & Service Recovery
- Investigate and resolve customer complaints related to shortages, incorrect supplies, and transit damages within defined turnaround timelines.
- Ensure end-to-end closure of customer complaints as per service targets.
Dispatch Coordination & Premium Freight Control
- Coordinate closely with sales teams for regular, urgent, and air dispatches.
- Maintain and analyze records of premium freight movements including air and special vehicle dispatches.
Returns, Salvage & Special Operations
- Coordinate with sales, customers, and channel finance teams for end-to-end processing of customer sales returns.
- Execute special assignments such as stock clearance, blocked stock recovery, non-moving and slow-moving material (NMSM) salvaging in line with SOPs and defined targets.
Insurance & Scrap Management
- Handle branch requirements for settlement of insurance claims related to transit losses and damages.
- Coordinate with return material stores for scrap disposal generated through stock clean-up and salvaging activities.
Reporting & Systems
- Prepare operational reports and perform data analysis for management reviews and special assignments.
- Work within a WMS-enabled environment and ensure adherence to system-driven processes.
Required Experience:
- 5-7 years of experience in supply chain, warehouse, or logistics roles within electrical, electronics, switchgear, or industrial manufacturing environments.
- Hands-on experience managing DC/warehouse operations and transportation coordination.
Qualifications:
- BE / B.Tech in Electrical Engineering.
- MBA / PGDM in Supply Chain Management or Operations preferred.
