Description:
Location: Noida
Experience Required: 11+ Years
Position Overview:
We are looking for a Manager Strategy who operates upstream of delivery entering engagements at the stage where the customers problem is not yet defined. This role shapes and frames banking and NBFC customer problems at the CXO and business-leader level, ahead of solution definition and delivery, positioning LUMIQ as a trusted domain advisor rather than a technology vendor.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead pre-engagement discovery with customer business leaders CFOs, CROs, Heads of Lending, COO offices to frame the business problem before solution definition begins.
- Develop point-of-view documents on customer-specific business problems: cost structures in collections, segment economics in retail lending, operational risk in payments, regulatory cost in KYC/KYB refresh cycles.
- Define problem boundaries and success criteria in collaboration with customer leadership, producing artefacts that can be handed to delivery and pre-sales teams.
- Bring structured advisory thinking to client conversations: hypothesis-driven problem framing, top-down segmentation of business challenges, and clear articulation of the cost or risk implication of inaction.
- Author POV papers, briefing notes, and client-facing strategy documents that position LUMIQ as a domain advisor, not a vendor.
- Represent LUMIQ at industry forums, CXO roundtables, and banking conferences as a credible domain voice.
- Partner with the sales team to convert advisory conversations into commercial opportunities bridging the gap between a CXOs stated business problem and a proposal that addresses it.
- Participate in client governance reviews and QBRs as the domain authority, reinforcing long-term advisory relationships.
- Support account planning with domain-specific insight: where a bank is underinvested relative to peers, upcoming regulatory or competitive triggers, and the 18-month outlook for their segment.
- Build and maintain LUMIQs banking domain knowledge base: reference models for lending economics, deposit book analysis, payment cost structures, and regulatory compliance frameworks.
- Coach delivery teams on domain context to ensure business outcomes not just technical outputs remain the measure of success.
Required Skills & Experience:
- 10+ years of experience in Banking or BFSI, with sustained exposure to business-side problems (not purely technology implementation).
- Deep fluency in banking workflows: retail and MSME lending (origination, underwriting, collections), deposit products, payments infrastructure, KYC/KYB and AML compliance, and regulatory reporting.
- Ability to contribute to P&L conversations understanding how a banks income statement is shaped by NIM compression, fee income mix, credit cost, and opex ratios.
- Customer-segment economics: ARPU drivers in premium retail, cost-to-serve in microfinance portfolios, and NBFC credit risk pricing in co-lending structures.
- Regulatory and governance awareness: RBI frameworks, Basel norms, FLDG guidelines, and data localisation sufficient to identify regulatory tailwinds and headwinds in client conversations.
- Demonstrated history of direct CXO conversations on banking business problems, with the ability to hold CFO, CRO, or Head of Lending discussions unaccompanied.
- Comfort with board-level communication: synthesising complex business problems into crisp executive framing without loss of precision.
- Experience navigating multi-stakeholder environments finance, risk, operations, and IT while anchoring the conversation to business outcomes.
- Hypothesis-driven problem framing and structured analytical communication (MECE, top-down narrative, data-backed assertions).
- Ability to build a business case: quantify the opportunity, identify the cost of inaction, and frame the solution boundary for a CXO audience.
- Strong written output: strategy memos, POV documents, executive briefings, and client-facing frameworks.
Preferred Background:
- BFSI strategy functions at large banks or NBFCs: Strategy team, COO office, Transformation office, or CROs office.
- Domain leads at BFSI-focused technology or analytics firms with a track record of CXO-level engagement (not purely delivery roles).
- MBA from a premier institution (IIM, ISB, or equivalent global) with a BFSI specialisation or post-MBA banking strategy trajectory.
Key Competencies:
- Domain Advisory & Problem Framing.
- CXO Engagement & Executive Communication.
- Consultative Selling & Commercial Acumen.
- Strategic Thinking & Thought Leadership.
- Stakeholder Management & Collaboration.
