About the Role :
- We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Statutory Audit Manager to join our Audit & Assurance practice.
- The role involves leading statutory audit engagements for financial services clients, managing client relationships, ensuring regulatory compliance, and mentoring audit teams.
- The ideal candidate should possess strong technical accounting and auditing expertise along with excellent stakeholder management skills.
Key Responsibilities :
- Lead and manage end-to-end statutory audit engagements for clients across financial services sectors including private equity funds, hedge funds, venture capital funds, broker dealers, and fund of funds.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to define audit scope, objectives, timelines, and audit strategy.
- Review financial statements, accounting records, and supporting documentation to ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and
- Perform risk assessment procedures and identify key audit areas requiring special focus.
Ensure audits are executed in accordance with auditing standards, firm methodologies, and quality benchmarks.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and act as a trusted advisor throughout the engagement lifecycle.
- Proactively communicate engagement progress, observations, risks, and recommendations to clients and internal stakeholders.
- Manage client expectations effectively while ensuring timely delivery of high-quality audit services.
- Support business development initiatives, proposals, and client presentations where required.
- Ensure compliance with applicable accounting frameworks such as IND-AS, IFRS, US GAAP, or other relevant reporting standards.
- Stay updated on evolving regulatory requirements, audit standards, and industry developments impacting financial services clients.
- Review internal controls, governance frameworks, and operational processes to identify gaps and improvement opportunities.
- Identify and mitigate engagement risks while maintaining adherence to firm risk management policies.
- Lead, supervise, and mentor audit associates and senior associates across multiple engagements.
- Allocate work effectively, monitor team performance, and provide regular feedback and coaching.
- Conduct engagement reviews and evaluate staff performance for appraisal and development purposes.
- Foster a collaborative, high-performance, and learning-oriented team environment.
- Drive continuous improvement in audit methodologies, tools, and engagement processes.
- Identify opportunities for operational efficiency, automation, and enhanced client service delivery.
- Contribute to knowledge-sharing initiatives and technical training programs within the practice.
Required Skills & Competencies :
- Strong knowledge of auditing standards, accounting principles, and financial reporting frameworks.
- Experience handling audits for financial services entities such as PE/VC funds, hedge funds, broker dealers, and asset management firms.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Effective communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple engagements and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in audit tools, MS Excel, and financial reporting systems
